BANDALF And The Cybernetic Apocalypse
--------------------
I'm interrupting this episode to bring you another installment of The History Of Bandalf The Wizard And Jahamut The Dragon. Join me, Bandalf1224, as I take you through the true past of Bandalf and Jahamut, revealing all the secrets that have never been told before and leading up to the tale of the Cybernetic Apocalypse.
The History Of Bandalf The Wizard And Jahamut The DragonPart 2Merlin's apprentice and baby Bandalf drifted for what seemed to be forever in the tunnel of the portal. Eventually, the portal opened and dropped them both off in a far and distant land that was completely new to them; 20th century New York City!
As the apprentice tried to pull himself together, baby Bandalf simply stared deeply into the bright lights and enormous buildings. His calm eventually made the apprentice relax as well. The apprentice picked up baby Bandalf and marched down the alleyway, towards the city streets.
Motor vehicles were a new and terribly frightening thing for the apprentice and baby Bandalf. They were like steel demons that made terrible noises when stepped in front of. Even worse, it looked like they consumed a human being and used them to operate their movements. The apprentice was relieved to find out that these beasts were actually 20th century machines that carried humans to and from specific locations. He thanked the angry taxi driver who told him this and continued on.
The apprentice thought constantly as to why this location is where the portal dropped them off. He couldn't find any reason why a magical portal would travel so far into the future. There was just no reason for a portal to do such a thing. Suddenly, the apprentice got his answer.
A very foggy and astral image appeared in front of the apprentice, slowly materializing into a ghostly form of Sorimax! The apprentice placed baby Bandalf down and stepped in front of him in order to protect him. Sorimax laughed as his ghastly form began to tell them why they were here.
It seemed that Sorimax was the one who created the portal. Even in his weakened form, he was able to transport the apprentice and Bandalf to the late 20th century. His true goal was to transport them to the end of time itself, but he was too weak to accomplish that. His only option was to move the two to this time, knowing that the apprentice would have a hard time surviving in such an advanced human civilization. The only problem was that Sorimax was growing tired of waiting for the moment that the apprentice would make the wrong decision in this "new world". His only chance at satisfaction before his spirit was gone forever would be to kill both the apprentice and Bandalf for the part that the apprentice's master, Merlin, and Bandalf's parents played in ruining his plans of conquering the world.
The apprentice, with what little he learned from Merlin, was in grave danger. Sorimax, even in his weak and fading form was too powerful of a wizard for the apprentice to handle. Collapsing on the ground, the apprentice coughed up blood as the astral image of Sorimax moved closer to baby Bandalf. The evil wizard raised his hand, a giant spear-tipped lightning bolt appeared in his hand. He swung his arm down at Bandalf. Baby Bandalf sneezed just before the bolt reached him and an enormous energy pulsated from baby Bandalf's body, eradicating the bolt Sorimax created and evaporating the phantasm all together. Before Sorimax dissolved away into nothing, he vowed he would find a way to return with full strength and finish the deed he sought out to accomplish.
The apprentice slowly crawled over to Bandalf. He tickled baby Bandalf under the chin. He knew he didn't have much time before he passed on. His injuries were too severe and he needed to find someone to watch over Bandalf. He chanted a spell to find two pure souls and followed the glimmering trail the spell created.
The spell reached the doorsteps of a small duplex. He took the opportunity to press the strange button by the side of the door, knowing he didn't have enough strength left to knock. The apprentice said one final goodbye to Bandalf, placing a small note inside the baby's blanket. Just before the door opened, the apprentice casted one final spell which made him vanish into thin air.
A strange couple opened the door, looking down at Bandalf all alone in the cold of the New York City night. The woman picked up the baby and read the note inside:
To whomever reads this note, know that I tried my very best to protect the child you no doubt have noticed underneath this cloth. His name is Bandalf and I was in charge of finding someone to look after him once his parents passed. There will be things you will not understand about him. He was born a very special child with very special talents. It is my master's understanding that he will become one of the best of his kind and I implore you to allow him to explore the talent that was given to him. I know I leave a great burden in your hands now. Please accept him as one of your own and raise him with all the kindness that his birth parents would have done if they were given the chance. Thank you.
The couple look down at the child and smile. They no doubt already made their choice.
Bandalf sneezed again. A frog materialized on the face of the man. He screamed like a little school girl as the woman turned and laugh, watching her husband wiggle around. She looked back and realized the person who wrote the note wasn't kidding. Bandalf was special. Even more than the couple knew. Slowly she closed the door, welcoming Bandalf to his new home.
And so Bandalf found his new home; the home of Antony and Maria Spinoli of the New York City Bronx district. But what of Bandalf's childhood? When did he meet his best friend Jahamut? What of Jahamut's past?
More will be revealed in the next edition of The History Of Bandalf The Wizard And Jahamut The Dragon!
