Following the success of my last LP, I've decided to play through the newest iteration of the World Championship 2010 game for you. And for the most part, I'll be playing it blind. There are no FAQs, no walkthroughs for me to follow. Everything will be as new to me as it will be to you.

But first! Who shall our intrepid adventurer be?

Leon?

or Lyra?

I'll write up a backstory once you choose. To give you a general idea, Leon is fairly reserved and submissive, and while he would question an order, he'll still carry it out. Lyra on the other hand is much more forceful in presence and is more focused on her personal code of conduct than what other people think is right.

Love to see another LP coming up. I'll vote for Leon just as a knee jerk reaction, dunno why.

Might be the nice hat. I was going to give him glasses because I liked the look, but the hat obscured the glasses, and it's a really nice hat.

Oh, and for those of you who care, I'm playing the Japanese version of the game. This means all of the cards will have Japanese text on them, and certain card images will remain uncensored. For example:

That's our Monster Reborn. Anything censored for cleavage/other exposure remains so, but things censored for blood, guns, or religion are in their original form. It probably won't come up much, but it's something I thought I'd mention.

Is the convo text in Japanese?? If so it lets you have a bit more freedom with your own storyline.

No. All of the World Championship series games are Multi6, so you can play them in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, or Spanish. The language is selected automatically based on your DS's system language, and I'm running English as my emulator's system language.

And fitting our non-standard character into the pre-scripted story is half the fun!

Further voting notes: If you want to rename the character, go ahead and put in a suggestion when you vote on gender. And like before, I can customize hair color, so if you really want to see Leon sporting bubblegum pink hair (or green so he can screw the rules), ask away!

Four days from the start....and only two votes. Am I really that boring? Anyways, since we had a tie vote, I flipped a coin, and it came up for Lyra. No hat for us.

A native of Satellite, Lyra is among one of the strongest duelists ever to emerge from the area. Brash and willful, she clawed her way to the top before being found and recruited by the Arcadia Movement, an organization of psychic duelists. Oddly, she has no psychic potential, so what interest does the Arcadia Movement have in her?

(The story is divided into 5 chapters, and each of them get a little title screen like this.)

??: Somebody...please help me...!

(Welcome to the Arcadia Movement laboratory. According to the anime, that bed that Lyra's on right now is actually filled with water so she's partially submerged. What the purpose of that is, I don't know, possibly it helps refocus psychics.)

(And this is the leader of our glorious organization, Sayer. Aside from having a really out-there hairdo, his name is drawn from "Soothsayer," people who were able to see glimpses of the future. His Japanese name, Divine, actually had a double pun; Divine still has the fortune-telling connection in that to divine is to discover through psychic or magical means, but it also carries the more obvious connection of being godlike. Appropriate, considering that he seems to be assured of his divinity.)

(I wouldn't have gotten a screenshot of this except for one thing. It demonstrates how Reverse of Arcadia handles important terms, it simply puts them in red. Generally, it's used to highlight important words, or directions given to you by another character.)

Sayer: Really?! Then all our research up to this point hasn't been in vain. Okay, that's enough for today. Maybe it's time we put this one to work for us... Even if this subject can't use psychic powers, I'm sure we'll have a decent duelist on our hands.

Seria: Oh! The subject's eyes have opened!

Sayer: When our friend here is able to walk, take our little protégé to her room. But make sure no one realizes that this subject is not a psychic duelist. If anyone else finds this out, our secret might be leaked to the outside world.

Seria: Yes, sir.

(Narration is in blue, as shown here. Seria and Lyra walk up and enter the room.)

Seria: Other than that, here's a deck you can use.

You recieved "Supplied Deck"

Seria: Since the deck has already been created, be careful not to mix the cards up.

Lyra: Thank you, I won't.

(This means we're not allowed to access the Duelist Menu right now. Which is okay, we don't really have anything worth changing. However, it also means that you can't see the decklist. Fortunately, I was able to use Gold Sarcophagus in a test run, so I have the decklist.)

Supplied Deck

20 Monsters
1 Genex Controller
1 DUCKER Mobile Cannon
2 Genex Neutron
2 Genex Turbine
2 Krebons
1 Majestic Mech - Ohka
1 Mobius the Frost Monarch
2 Mystic Tomato
1 Old Vindictive Magician
1 Power Invader
2 Psychic Snail
1 Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter
1 Sangan
2 Telekinetic Shocker

13 Spells
1 Back to Square One
1 Big Bang Shot
1 Brain Control
1 Fissure
1 Gold Sarcophagus
1 Monster Reincarnation
1 Mystic Wok
1 Psychic Sword
2 Rush Recklessly
1 Shield Crush
2 Twister

7 Traps
1 Dust Tornado
1 Magic Jammer
1 Nightmare Wheel
1 Skill Successor
2 Threatening Roar
1 Trap Jammer

Extra
1 Magical Android
1 Psychic Lifetrancer
1 Thought Ruler Archfiend

(It's pretty decent, though we only use it for three duels.)

Seria: You'll be recieving your instructions from Sayer soon. You two better be ready, too!

(This is Okita. He is entirely too happy.)

Okita: We just got here ourselves, so I'm afraid we probably can't answer too many of your questions.

(And Liquid is less so.)

Lyra: Oh, I'm Lyra.

Liquid: Lyra, eh? Well, good to have you on board.

Lyra: ...

Liquid: What're you staring into space for? You got anything goin' on upstairs there?

Lyra: Y-yeah, I was just distracted. Sorry.

Liquid: Okay then, what's that fella's name over there?

Lyra: Okita.

Liquid: Yeah, that's right. It's Okita. All right, so where are we now?

Lyra: Umm... I don't know? But how can I not know?

Liquid: Hey now, get ahold of yourself! We're in Arcadia Movement headquarters, right? Okay, give your brain a rest 'til we get some instructions. Just don't go causing any trouble...

Lyra: *under her breath* Great, first day here and I've already ticked off one of my roommates.

(Obviously this was a last minute change, given that Lyra doesn't even get a bed.)

(For those of you who followed Stardust Accelerator, this should look familiar. Save points like this have the same purpose as last year's game, and really any RPG that uses them.)

Lyra: I don't know about that, but I'll go for a duel.

Okita: No psychics allowed, all right? We wouldn't want to mess up our room now, would we? Although, being such novices ourselves, I'm sure we can't cause that much damage.

Lyra: True, but better safe than sorry.

(So I guess I ought to explain what exactly a psychic duelist is. Psychic duelists have a form of telekinesis which they focus into dueling, allowing them to essentially manifest their monsters and cause physical damage with their cards. Sayer has been able to take it a step further and actually utilize the effects of Spell Cards outside of duels.)

Okita uses the Healing Psychic deck, which is...well, a deck that utilizes a couple of Psychic-Type monsters and lots of healing cards. He's a warm-up for the rest of the game. His strongest monster is the 1700 ATK Telekinetic Shocker, which you should have no trouble defeating.

(It's time for "Konami Listens!" One of the biggest complaints about every Yu-Gi-Oh! game is how grindy they tend to get. To help combat this, Konami has raised many bonuses and included several new ones that you can get almost every game. It's not uncommon to get over 1200 DP your first duel with Okita, though this one was over too quickly for me to do something like that.)

Okita: You're amazing! I shall have to dedicate myself to training even harder like you!

Liquid: Is that all you two got? Let me show you how this works...

(Sadly, we never get to see what Liquid was going to do. Perhaps fortunate because he may not have held back on the psychic powers, and even a novice can inflict quite a bit of harm to someone with zero potential.)

Sayer: The next operation to be carried out by our very own Arcadia Movement has been decided upon! Our target will be the Sector Security event, the Fortune Cup! Apparently, a large number of duelists with amazing skills will participate in this tournament. Sector Security... I can't let them go about their business without any oversight now, can I?! Akiza, come!

(Remember her? Since this game deals with the Arcadia Movement, she's given a lot more screen time than in Stardust Accelerator.)

Sayer: I need the three of you to infiltrate the rear of the event hall to support her.

(How exactly we can do this, I'm not certain. Given that this is the Arcadia Movement, I doubt we're there for moral support, especially since we're neophytes. It's possible that we're supposed to be there to amplify her psychic powers, but then I'm probably just giving this game too much credit.)

Sayer: That said, it looks like you don't have enough power now to bend a psychic duel to your will. The three of you will have to work together! Consider it a kind of field training. Akiza, make sure you give those other contestants a real taste of your powers!

Akiza: Yes, sir. Everything will be as you wish, Sayer.

Sayer: All right. You three, head over to the tournament. Don't fail me!

Lyra: We won't, sir!

(You're given an opportunity to save in your room before progressing to the event hall. When given the opportunity, do it, generally it means a battle you have to win is coming up.)

Lyra: So how do we get in?

Okita: I'll look around here. You go look around the entrance gate...

(The guard at the gate won't let you past, and there's no way around him. Makes you wonder how the spectators got in, though. Just go back to your comrades.)

Okita: I believe we can enter from here. Come on!

Liquid: We'll watch to make sure nobody's coming. You go in first, Lyra. We'll be right behind you.

Lyra: Understood. Where will I meet you?

Liquid: We'll meet up with you in the waiting room.

(Inside is our first...)

(Block puzzle! I love these, don't you? They're more numerous in Reverse of Arcadia, and now come with a reset button, but you don't get to keep the items you've collected if you use it, which really only comes into play with the optional puzzles. Those you practically have to solve multiple times if you want to get all the loot.)

(It's not a difficult puzzle, but you can screw it up fairly easily. Anyways, you come out just in front of the stadium, so go in and enter the waiting room.)

(This is actually an exchange from the anime version of the Fortune Cup, meaning Stardust Accelerator has been retconned out of existance. Which is good, that was a horrible story. Fun to play, but a horrible story.)

Akiza: No. I'll let Sayer do it for me. It's easier that way.

Yusei: Stop! Don't run away! I know you can still feel your true self!

Akiza: I have no other option!

Yusei: Yes, you do! You can save yourself! Hear my words thorugh this duel!

Yusei: Go! Cosmic Flare!

(In the Japanese anime, Yusei goes through that chant every time he Synchro Summons Stardust Dragon. It's interesting to note that while the Synchro chant is used over the dub catchphrase "Let's rev it up," the attack is the dub's Cosmic Flare instead of the original's Shooting Sonic.)

Akiza: Ugh!

(And how can we have the Fortune Cup without the Master of Ceremonies and his insane pompadour? Sadly, I think he's just a cameo.)

MC: Yusei Fudo emerges as the victor of this epic battle! He is our champion!!!

(This is absurd, there's a viewscreen on the wall...)

Lyra: Probably. Does that mean we took too long getting here?

Liquid: More imporatntly, where did Okita run off to? He's taking forever!

Lyra: Hopefully Security didn't get him. (Okita enters) Okita! Where've you been?

(I love how he delivers that with his beaming face.)

Liquid: What? Don't we need her for this plan to work? Now what?!

Okita: I guess we just have to go home and forget about it. Even coming here was probably a waste of time now. But why don't we take a peek around before we go on our merry little way?

Lyra: It can't hurt, I suppose.

Akiza: But I...I...

Sayer: Let's go. You need rest now.

(Lazar is Godwin's...well, henchman, I guess. He, yes, that's a he, runs errands from delivering Fortune Cup invitations to forcibly bringing people to an audience with Godwin.)

Lazar: Director Godwin would like to see you, my dear.

Sayer: Humph, as if I would ever want to give him the time of day.

Lazar: Ehehehehehe! Feisty, aren't we? Well, I guess I'll just have to take you by force then!

Sayer: Grr... I don't have time for this nonsense. Take care of these guys. I have to take Akiza home so she can rest.

Lyra: Yes, sir!

(Since I didn't get a screenshot of them, Lazar has a couple of Men in Black rejects with him. Tashiro uses the Equip & Tribute deck, which is even more pathetic than Okita's Healing Psychic. He uses a bunch of early monsters like Crawling Dragon and Hitotsu-Me Giant with Silver Bow and Arrow and Dragon's Treasure as his equips. His strongest monster is Gyakutenno Megami...and apparently he always plays Rock in the Rock-Paper-Scissors game too. Seriously, you should never lose this battle.)

Lazar: Well, well, well... Looks like they've managed to escape. I suppose we have no choice but to fall back.

Lyra: I hope they're not all that weak, or overthrowing Sector Security will be pathetically easy.

Liquid: Looks like this is all we're gettin' done today. Our plan was a failure. Let's head back.

Okita: Indeed it was. We likely won't be getting any more orders today. We wouldn't want to waste our energy on any unnecessary efforts now, would we? *leaves*

Liquid: Come on, Lyra, let's beat it. We don't have any more reason to be here.

(Aha, Carly. Like she said, she's a journalist, and one constantly being threatened with being fired by her boss. She apparently works for an online newspaper.)

Carly: I want you to tell me everything you know about the Arcadia Movement!

Lyra: W-what? Even if they trusted me with anything, why would I tell you?

Carly: Although...it looks like you're gonna be a pretty tough nut to crack. I know! If I beat you in a duel you have to promise all the questions I wanna ask you!

Lyra: This is ridiculous...

??: Gaaahhhhhhhhhhh!!!

(Apparently, that's the closest rendition they could get to the Crimson Dragon's cry in text. The sound effect is better.)

Carly: Huh?! Oh my gosh! Has the championship match already started?! And more importantly... What was that sound just now?! I've gotta get to the stadium, pronto!

Carly: This is gonna be HUGE! I gotta get an interview!!!

(Here you're treated to an image of the Crimson Dragon, followed by a splash screen on the bottom with the game's logo.)

MC: Ohh, the drama!!! What a shocker!!! No one could have predicted this!!! We have a new king!!! Yuseiii Fudooooooooo!!!

Lyra: W-what?! How do I know these people...?

(Ah, Godwin. If Stardust Accelerator was any indication, we already know he's up to no good.)

Akiza: Sayer... What should I do? Please...tell me... What should I...do?

Sayer: Akiza, look me in the eyes.

Akiza: ... ... ...

Sayer: That one speaks such nonsense. It would be better if you believe what I tell you.

Akiza: Ugh...

Sayer: Don't think about anything now. Just rest. You shouldn't fret over things that don't concern you.

Akiza: Yes... Sayer... I trust you.

Liquid: Guess you're feeling better now, huh? After you staggered in here yesterday and fell right to sleep, I was kinda worried.

Lyra: Sorry to worry you.

Liquid: If that's what you're like on the very first day, I can't say the future's looking good for you...

Okita: I'm very pleased that you're feeling all right today. So Lyra, am I right in understanding that you are to start training today?

Lyra: So I've been told.

Okita: Should you have any questions, ask at the Training Room. Just exit this building and head west.

Nino: And I'm Nino. I can offer you structure duel training.

(For reference, Check is the man, and Nino the woman.)

Check: Let's get started, shall we? You should train to improve your powers as a duelist. In my class, you must solve some duel puzzles prepared by yours truly. You can choose between five problems. Get three correct answers, and you pass.

Nino: In my class, you'll duel using a structure deck. To pass a structure duel, you need to win using three different decks.

Check: If you clear both the duel puzzle and the structure duel, you can move on to other types of training. And when the time comes, we'll explain what those other types are. Whenever you want to train, just talk to whichever of us you need.

Nino: Feel free to try your luck as often as you like. We'll be waiting...

(Time for another installment of "Konami listens!" Another major complaint with 09 was how pathetic the Starter Deck was. Well, by the time you get access to a card shop in Story Mode, you'll be able to buy a Structure Deck, and should have well over the 2000 DP needed for it. The Structure Deck available is one of the three you've used to clear Nino's challenge, I believe the last one. The other two are made available in later chapters, so you'll be able to buy them all before the story ends. Now, I could have people vote, but I think it would be more interesting to do this. I'll post all 5 of Check's Duel Puzzles. The first one to solve all of them correctly can pick the three Structure Decks I'll beat Nino with. If no one does by next Sunday, I'll just pick myself.)

Your Hand: Jerry Beans Man, Acrobatic Monkey
Your Field: Tune Warrior (ATK)
Your Extra Deck: Gaia Knight, the Force of Earth

Opponent's Field: Bottomless Trap Hole (face/down)

LP: You 1000 - 2600 Opponent

Check's Hint: A word of advice. If you Summon a monster with an ATK of 1500 or higher...it will be destroyed by "Bottomless Trap Hole." Be sure to watch out for that.

Your Hand: Malice Dispersion, Cyber Eltanin, Cyber Dragon
Your Field: Jade Knight, Victory Viper XX03, FalchionBeta, Blue Thunder T-45, Lord British Space Fighter (All ATK)

Opponent's Field: Perfect Machine King x3 (ATK), Gravity Bind

LP: 1000 - 3000

Check's Hint: At first, the monsters on your side of the field are not able to destroy your opponent's monsters. Use a little skill to Special Summon "Cyber Eltanin" from your hand and try out its effect.

Your Hand: Plaguespreader Zombie, Quickdraw Synchron, Mad Archfiend, Majestic Dragon, Stardust Xiaolong
Your Field: One for One (face-down)
Your Extra Deck: Majestic Star Dragon, Stardust Dragon, Turbo Warrior

Opponent's Field: Dark Armed Dragon (ATK)

LP: 1000-3800

Check's Hint: With "Majestic Star Dragon," you can negate the effects of an opponent's monster and use them for yourself. If your opponent's monster has a powerful effect, then you should certainly try this out.

Your Hand: Tethys, Goddess of Light
Your Field: Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter (face-down DEF), Jar of Greed (face-down), Solemn Wishes (face-down)
Your Deck: Wulf, Lightsworn Beast, Aurkus, Lightsworn Druid, Jenis, Lighsworn Mender, Celestia, Lightsworn Angel, Judgment Dragon

Opponent's Field: Marshmallon x3 (all DEF), Gravity Bind

LP: 100-3000

Check's Hint: The effect of "Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter" does not necessarily have to be used on your opponent. You can choose any card on the field and destroy it. This is a useful strategy. Don't forget it.

Your Hand: Axe of Despair, Molting Escape, Gogiga Gagagigo, Oshaleon, Reptilianne Spawn, Reptilianne Medusa
Your Field: Reptilianne Scylla (face-down DEF), Reptilianne Viper (ATK), Reptilianne Gorgon (face-down DEF), Offering to the Snake Deity (face-down)
Your Deck: Giga Gagagigo, Double Summon, Order to Charge
Your Extra Deck: Reptilianne Hydra

Opponent's Field: Marshmallon x4 (DEF), Swords of Revealing Light x2

LP: 1000 - 5300

Check's Hint: The effect of of "Reptilianne Hydra" is very powerful. It could destroy some of your opponent's monsters. It also lets you draw a card for each monster that was destroyed. However, be sure to set things up skillfully and check you have enough cards remaining in your deck.

(The Structure Decks available are the same as 2009, except the more current 5Ds Starter Deck is used. Also, two new decks are included: Warrior's Strike, a Gemini/Warrior deck that manipulates Equip Spells, and Machina Mayhem, a deck focusing on the Machina (Machiner) monsters from the R manga and Union support.)

EDIT: Also! To aid in solving the puzzles, you can use the Yu-Gi-Oh! wiki or a similar resource to look up any cards you don't know what do.

Hmmm... The three I'm liking of these puzzles are, in this order: Cyber Eltanin, Majestic Star Dragon, and Lightsworns/Tethys, Goddess of Light.

As for the Starter Decks, Go with Dragons Roar, Zombie World, and the 5D's Starter Deck. You can choose which one you wanna go with. :P

@ Legend: Thanks, this is a lot more fun the more people are involved.

@ Yusei: Thanks for the suggestions, but you actually have to solve the Duel Puzzles if you want to pick the Structure Decks.

Ah. Well, you'll think of those when going for them, right?

Wow, no one even attempted the puzzles. I'm saddened. But the show must go on! The solutions are in spoilers below, in case you still want to solve them on your own.

Puzzle 1
Spoiler for Hiden:
1. Summon Acrobatic Monkey.
2. Attack directly with both monsters.

Really, this puzzle is just insulting. They get better though.

Puzzle 2
Spoiler for Hiden:
1. Activate Malice Dispersion, discarding Cyber Dragon.
2. Special Summon Cyber Eltanin.
3. Attack directly.

Still simple

Puzzle 3
Spoiler for Hiden:
1. Special Summon Quickdraw Synchron by discarding Plaguespreader Zombie.
2. Special Summon Plaguespreader Zombie by returning Stardust Xiaolong or Majestic Dragon to your Deck.
3. Activate One for One, discarding Mad Archfiend to Special Summon the monster you returned to your Deck to summon Plaguespreader Zombie.
4. Normal Summon Stardust Xiaolong or Majestic Dragon, whichever you haven't summoned yet.
5. Synchro Summon Turbo Warrior by tuning Quickdraw Synchron into Stardust Xiaolong.
6. Synchro Summon Stardust Dragon by tuning Plaguespreader Zombie into Turbo Warrior. Activate the effect of Stardust Xiaolong when prompted.
7. Synchro Summon Majestic Star Dragon by tuning Majestic Dragon into Stardust Xiaolong and Stardust Dragon.
8. Activate Majestic Star Dragon's effect to negate and copy the effect of Dark Armed Dragon. Activate the copied effect by removing Mad Archfiend from play and destroy Dark Armed Dragon.
9. Attack directly.

This one gets a little more complicated, but you know you have to summon Majestic Star to win, making it more of an excersise in seeing how you can summon it.

Puzzle 4
Spoiler for Hiden:
1. Flip Summon Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter, and destroy it with its own effect. Wulf, Lightsworn Beast will be Special Summoned.
2. Tribute Wulf, Lightsworn Beast for Tethys, Goddess of Light.
3. Activate Solemn Wishes, then (not as a Chain) activate Jar of Greed.
4. Activate the effect of Tethys, Goddess of Light, revealing Celestia, Lightsworn Angel to draw a card.
5. Special Summon Judgment Dragon and activate its effect.
6. Attack directly.

The only hard part is realizing you have to destroy Ryko. Otherwise pretty easy.

Puzzle 5
Spoiler for Hiden:
1. Tribute Reptilianne Gorgon for Reptilianne Medusa.
2. Use Reptilianne Medusa's effect 3 times, targeting 3 different Marshmallon cards and discarding Molting Escape, Oschaleon, and Gogiga Gagagigo.
3. Flip Summon Reptilianne Scylla and Synchro Summon Reptilianne Hydra by tuning Reptilianne Viper into it.
4. Activate Double Summon.
5. Activate Reptilianne Spawn, removing any Reptilianne monster in your Graveyard from play.
6. Activate Offering to the Snake Deity, destroying one of your tokens and both Swords of Revealing Light cards.
7. Tribute the other token for Giga Gagagigo.
8. Activate Order to Charge, Tributing Giga Gagagigo to destroy the final Marshmallon.
9. Equip one of your monsters with Axe of Despair.
10. Attack directly with both monsters.

This one is the first one that starts getting a little complex. You really have to think about how to manipulate the Reptilianne monsters you're given, which isn't easy if you're not familiar with them.

So, since I solved the puzzles, I guess I get to pick. The Structure Decks I'll be going with are Spellcaster's Judgment, Spellcaster's Command, and Machine Re-Volt. Judgment gives the backbone of a Dark Magician/Chaoscaster deck, Command improves it, and Re-Volt has some nifty Spell & Trap toys like Enemy Controller and two copies of Sakuretsu Armor. We'll start with Spellcaster's Judgment, since it's most focused.

Judgment

But wait! Isn't it random from the ones you've beaten Nino with? Well, it *should* be, but not quite. If you go into World Championship mode after beating Nino for the first time, you can buy that Structure Deck as your first.

Check: Starting tomorrow, you will have to undergo Duel Runner race training.

Nino: But it won't be held here. It will be held on the highway at the east side of New Domino City.

Check: Nice work today. Be sure to work hard tomorrow as well!

(If you want, you can continue to play against Nino or finish Check's other puzzles. I go ahead and finish the puzzles so I won't have to come back after the story ends.)

Sayer: I guess you can now help me sharpen Akiza up. Follow me!

Sayer: Akiza, it looks like you're still not in perfect condition, so don't overdo it, okay? Just take it easy and think of this as light training.

Akiza: Yes, Sayer.

Lyra: Glad to hel-

Sayer: Akiza, no need for such small talk. Just think of this only as something to help bring back your senses.

Lyra: Well excuse me.

Akiza: Yes, sir. Very well. Let's begin.

(Akiza is an incredibly difficult opponent at this stage in the game, having the ability to summon random Tytannials from her Deck while your strongest monster is the difficult to summon Thought Ruler Archfiend, and having access to Mark of the Rose. That being said, it is possible to defeat her and it's well worth trying seeing as the rewards are so much greater for victory. But don't panic if you lose, the game expects you to.)

(There's a bright flash, then your character flies offscreen before this happens.)

(As seen here.)

Lyra: Occupational hazard...*winces*...don't worry about it.

Sayer: You must still be a little tired. Just take the rest of the day off.

Akiza: But...

Sayer: Akiza, look into my eyes. I'm sure our friend over there will be okay. There's no need for you to worry.

Lyra: Easy for you to say, you weren't smashed into the wall.

Akiza: Yes, sir...*leaves, but stops to look at you on the way out*

Liquid: You're awake now, right? So you start Duel Runner training today? Well, we're in the same boat. If we become really good, we might be awarded with a Duel Runner! I'll go on ahead!

Lyra: You sure seem excited...but then, I guess this is something to get excited about.

(This is the world map. As you can see, it's sectioned off into 5 areas, though we can only access two right now: the Arcadia Movement building and New Domino City. New Domino itself is pretty restricted, you're not allowed into the stadium or into Daimon, just over to the highway.)

(You can, however, find 2000 DP under this trash can.)

(This one yields our first Star Chip. What are they for? We'll cover that later.)

Kawasaki: The name's Kawasaki. I'm in charge of Duel Runner race training!

Lyra: That's me. Wait, you're really named Kawasaki? I guess it's a good thing you ended up going into the motorbike gig.

Kawasaki: Oh! You're almost up. Just wait a few more minutes!

Liquid: You've gotta watch out for the obstacles, or they'll really slow ya down.

Lyra: Thanks for the advice.

Kawasaki: Next up is Lyra! Come and holler at me when you're ready!

(Like he says, just talk to him when you're ready for your heat.)

Kawasaki: Lyra, are you ready? You can ride your Duel Runner to your heart's content!

(This is a lie. What he means is that you can retry as often as you like until you make the time.)

Lyra: No time like the present, get me a bike!

Kawasaki: All right then! Go burn up the course!

(Kawasaki starts you on the basic Beta frame, and gives you an absurdly generous 3 minutes to complete the course. With high-end gear, it's possible to complete it in less than 40 seconds, three minutes is way too much. Now, like the last game, there are obsticles and accelerators to help you)

(These accelerate you greatly, often to your top speed. They can be kind of a double-edged sword though when you need to make tight turns.)

(These are new, they throw you over something. In this case it's rough road, which slows you to a crawl if you land on it, but there's one jump that actually spans a gap. Fortunately even if you miss, you just land on a long stretch of rough road instead of auto-losing.)

(Hey, I remember those! While they've gotten a facelift, they're functionally identical to the pillars from Stardust Accelerator.)

(I remember those too. Like the pillars, they're identical to the dynamos from the previous game, except in appearance. Shortly after this thing, Lyra reaches the goal at 1:22:73. Told you she wouldn't need 3 minutes.)

Liquid: C'mon, be honest... You've ridden some before, haven't you?

Lyra: H-huh? No, not that I know. Though it did feel almost natural, like I'd been doing it for a long time.

Liquid: Nah, you wouldn't keep something like that from me! Guess you're just a natural.

Lyra: Must be. You'll get better.

Lyra: How do you know my name? Wait, you're...you're the new King, Yusei Fudo, right? Yusei...

(I'm sorry, I meant to take a screenshot, but I missed it. On the same background as the next two screenshots, Yusei in his Enforcers/Team Satisfaction uniform says that he's finished tuning up the prototype Duel Runner for you.)

Lyra: What the hell was that?

Liquid: You don't look so hot... Are you okay? Do you know that guy?

Lyra: No! I mean...yes? I don't know...I'm confused.

Sayer: Somebody take her back to headquarters!

Lyra: Bastard...b-but...he's right. I need to lie down, I think.

Liquid: *looks at Sayer, then at you* ... ... ...

Yusei: Lyra! Are you okay?!

Sayer: Yusei! This doesn't concern you! Please leave at once! *Liquid helps Lyra towards the Arcadia Movement building*

Yusei: Lyra?! What's going on...?

Sayer: So the brainwashing is wearing off?

Seria: That's right. It appears that the subject experienced a great shock related to a past event.

Sayer: Yusei Fudo...! Time and time again, he keeps getting in my way! If he gets any closer to this one, it could spell big trouble for us. Let's strengthen the brainwashing so our subject can better resist these pests from the past!

Seria: But the brainwave isn't stable. If we push it too far, we could endanger the subject's life!

Sayer: Humph, I see... We can't afford to lose such an important asset. Preserving the subject's life takes top priority. We'll have to conduct more brainwashing again later.

Seria: Yes, sir.

Your conciousness has drifted to distant memories...

Lyra: Sorry I overslept.

Crow: Those Securities really get on my nerves sometimes! They hate us duel gangs so much.

Lyra: Huh?

Crow: What's with the confused look? You don't remember me?! I'm Crow "the Bullet" Hogan!

Lyra: Sounds more like a name suited to a professional wrestler than duelist. But it's not you I'm confused about, it's the sudden topic shift.

Crow: Are you okay...? Do you even know where we are?

Lyra: Of course I do! We're...in...umm...well, your place, I guess.

Crow: This is the depths of Satellite, Barbaric Area after Damage, or B.A.D. Area for short!

Lyra: That is so stupid that I can't believe I could have forgot it. Unless I deliberately repressed that.

Crow: Okay, now you're lookin' normal again. But let's see if you're really okay with a duel!

Lyra: You're on... !! My deck! It's missing!

Crow: Huh? Where's your deck? Oh yeah... Securities took it from you yesterday.

Lyra: That's why the topic shift. Dark take it. And Securities too.

Crow: No problem. You can use my spare deck. Heh! I bet it's better than some guys' main decks! *a beat* Oh, man! Securities confiscated everything except my main deck!

Lyra: Great...now what?

Crow: Okay, let's go sneak into the Securities' storage facility together and get our cards back!

Lyra: WHAT?! Do you know how incredibly dangerous that is, and how insane we'd have to be to even try to attempt it! If we're caught we'll be slapped with Markers and spend the next twenty years in the Detention Center! *a beat* How're we going to do it?

Crow: Oh yeah, before that...I have something I need to give you.

Lyra: Not really my style, but okay. I take it this is to sneak in?

Crow: I only have this one, so you wear it. Use this to open the door to the storage facility. *hands Lyra a Storage Facility Key*

Lyra: I don't wanna know where you got this.

Crow: I'll cause a distraction and lure the guards at the entrance away. That's when you sneak in and grab your deck. And don't forget my cards!

Lyra: All right, all right, I'll make sure to grab yours too.

Crow: The Securities' storage facility is to the north, up the coast. I'll go ahead, and you let me know when you're ready!

(When you are, talk to Crow. You really can't do anything until you retrieve your cards though, so you might as well. If you don't have the uniform on, however, he'll tell you to change, and how.)

(Doesn't she look all spiffy and official?)

Lyra: Right...good luck.

Securities: Hm?! You're one of the duel gang members from yesterday... What are you doing here then, eh?

Crow: Oh, it's you! Have all your bruises healed yet? *runs off*

Securities: Grrr! You're not going anywhere, punk!

(Crow dashes by, followed by the officer)

Now is the time to sneak into the Securities' storage facility to retrieve your deck!

Lyra: *sigh* I suppose it's just made easier by the fact they're all idiots, but leaving only one guard and a hot-blooded one at that was foolish.

(Like in Stardust Accelerator, you have to evade the guards in order to reach the goal. You can go into the northwest and southeast rooms, but you only really need to go into the southeast. And, fortunately, there's only one guard to evade - and his position is tracked convienently on your mini-map. Be careful though, as the guards aren't deaf, and they'll hear you run. Looting the storage room yields your cards, Crow's cards, a Mist Wurm, and a Flamvell Magician. Return to Crow and...)

Lyra: Says the man who didn't actually have to sneak in. I did remember to get these for you though. *turns over Crow's cards*

Crow: Nice work! Those Securities losers never knew what hit 'em! Gahhh! My spare deck's all messed up... Don't tell me I gotta rebuild this thing from scratch!

Lyra: All right, I won't tell you. I'm keeping the uniform, by the way.

Crow: Yeah, you two duel while I rebuild this spare deck...

Lyra: Now? But I just got back.

Crow: Y'know, he's been worried sick about you the whole time you've been gone.

Lyra: Has he now? I'm touched.

Itsuki: I have not!

Crow: Don't lie! You know you have! "Lyra is taking so long! I hope she's okay!" Remember? Haha!

Itsuki: Was not! You're a big meanie, Crow! *storms out, well, as much as a 8-year-old-boy can storm out*

Crow: Okay, okay! Calm down! You're always being such a little kid.

Lyra: News flash, Crow. He is a little kid. And one going through the "feelings are for sissies stage" at that.

Crow: Yeah, so Lyra, why don't you two duel for a bit? That might be the only thing that can cheer him up right now. And like I said, he really was worried about ya.

Lyra: All right...but you really ought to work on your people skills.

Crow: Thanks!

Lyra: That's a start.

(But first, we rebuild our deck! We start off with this

Not bad as far as Starter Decks go, but we've got the much better Spellcaster's Judgment to use as a base. Unfortunately, we need to take out the 2 Magician of Faith, Tsukiyomi, and Premature Burial cards before it's legal for use. Fortunately, with some investment in Duel Terminal sets, that's easily done, giving us

1 Mist Wurm
1 X-Saber Urbellum

Which is considerably better. It'll improve as we get some Level 8 Synchros that actually let us take advantage of Flamvell Magician. Now let's duel Itsuki!)

(Itsuki uses a basic WIND/LP Gain strategy that is pretty standard for such a low-level duelist. It also contains the first Dragunity cards you'll ever see, if he ever brings them out. I'll cover Dragunity when I find someone more dedicated to the strategy. Oh, and his deck is "Best Storm Deck", and his key card is Reasoning.)

Itsuki: Lyra, you're too good!

Crow: Amazing duel, Lyra! I'm really impressed with your skills! I was goin' through my cards and found one that wasn't mine. Here, you can have it. *gives Lyra a Seven Tools of the Bandit* Hey, I almost forgot. Yusei was lookin' for ya. He was talkin' about his Duel Runner, so he's probably around the old highway in the northern slums.

(We should do that...but wait...we've just gotten access to a city full of duelists...and that means...Training montage! Grinding's a little less painful this game because of the increased DP, but most importantly, because Konami Listens!

With the exception of special outfits and Duel Disks, the magic number to unlock things is 3. Granted, you could unlock packs with only 3 duels against each opponent in Stardust Accelerator, but you still had to duel them 2 more times to get a WC duelist. Not so here, all the WC duelists unlocked via Story Mode are unlocked simply by completing events, so your grind is effectively cut in half. In fact, you could just coast on the Structure Deck you started with and not grind at all until after the story. But since we do still unlock packs by grinding, grind we shall.)

(Another useful tool is the Information button. When you talk to a duelist, you get the option to talk to them, duel them, or check information. Information gives you your Win/Lose/Draw numbers, which is nice for checking how much of a grind you need to go through. Duel Stats from the main menu gives you the same info.)

(Here's Mimi, and the miraculous "Miracle Mimic" deck! What is Miracle Mimic? Why a deck using Majestic Mechs, Giant Germs, draw support, and Shining Angels to summon Sky Scourges. Her key card is Darkness Neosphere, which is incredibly difficult to take down as a 4000 ATK/DEF monster when monster removal is limited. In fact, her entire deck is marginally evil. Don't let the cute fool you, she will chew you up and spit you out if you let her.)

(Nerve! We still have it, and so does Yusuke, daring to show up as a beginner opponent again. His new Court in Session deck is still an Angel Permission strategy, and evil as ever. The only new trick he has really is a single Valhalla, but it's still an annoyingly tough deck for this part of the game. Defeating him 3 times pushes us over the 10 duel threshold since buying our last Structure deck, so now we can pick up Machine Re-Volt. In goes a second Enemy Controller and both Sakuretsu Armors, out goes Divine Wrath, Pitch-Black Power Stone, and Spell Absorption. Next up,)

(Chihiro, who use- wait, legendary items? She's talking about Star Chips, of course! Chihiro will exchange Star Chips for alternate art cards, new costumes, new Duel Disks, and even a special item that we can't even see what is just yet. It'll take 140 Star Chips to buy everything, which I think is doable. Here's the list of what she offers:

Alternate Art cards (come in sets of 3, and cost 5 chips):
1. Blue-Eyes White Dragon (Power of Chaos/Dark Beginnings 1 art)
2. Dark Magician (Power of Chaos/Dark Beginnings 1 art)
3. Red-Eyes B. Dragon (Power of Chaos/Dragon's Roar art)
4. Dark Magician Girl (Duelist Pack -Yugi- art)
5. Gilford the Lightning (only US art released)
6. Cyber Dragon (Duelist Pack -Zane- art)
7. Cyber End Dragon (Strike of Neos - Special Edition art)
8. Summoned Skull (Anniversary Pack art)
9. Buster Blader (Anniversary Pack art)

Costumes (most cost 5 chips):
1. One-piece (m. Denim Jacket)
2. Race queen (m. Wild Style)
3. ??? (m. ???), costs 15 chips

Disks (most cost 5 chips)
1. KC Mass Production Disk
2. Academia Disk (Red)
3. Academia Disk (Yellow)
4. Academia Disk (Blue)
5. ???, costs 10 chips

Other
1. ???, costs 40 chips

I'll keep a tally of our Star Chips at the end of every update. If you want me to buy something with them, just let me know.)

(Now! Chihiro uses a deck called Return to Chaos, which as the name suggests, is a Light/Dark deck focused on Chaos Sorcerer. She also uses Shiny Black "C", a card that removes itself in the Graveyard from play to destroy any Synchro Monster upon summoning.)

(Check that box for 200 DP. It's not much, but it'll buy you a booster.)

(Northwest of Chihiro is a path that leads to a run-down building. Alongside it, you find this box, which contains another 200 DP.)

(We're out of B.A.D. Area duelists to duel just at the moment, so we head north into the Slums to go take our aggression out on others. Sugimoto here uses Ocean's Breeze, our first WATER deck. Fortunately for us, he uses Umi rather than Umiiruka and A Legendary Ocean. Unfortunately, he uses Codarus, the mini-Daedalus, and a lot of the new WATER support.)

(Roy's Treasure is a 'Roid deck, much like his previous one. Again, Stealth Union summoned off of Vehicroid Connection Zone is practically impossible to take down, but he also has Cyber Dragon Zwei in his arsenal now as well. He's actually a pretty good sport about losing, asking you to teach him to duel like you do.)

(Oda uses Shogun's Command, which happens to be a Six Samurai deck. Fortunately, he doesn't use Grandmaster, so he's not really a threat. OUr first duel with him pushes us over the 10 win mark, making Spellcaster's Command available! Some time with the Password Machine later, and I think it's time to wrap up this update with the new list.)

Dude, I'm gonna need to get this game to keep up with you as well. :P I like the fact you only have to beat people three times and can check to see how many times you've won or lost against them. That would've helped in its predecessor.

Found something you missed, Sevus. At the three-way branch, near the old shack, there's a Star Chip. :P

Edit: Also, check in some of the buildings. There's a few items there as well. I'm at the moment munking around in a few areas right now that haven't been covered yet. :P

Lyra's going to have to enter most of the buildings through the course of the story anyways, so I'm saving building exploration for when I actually have to explore the buildings. Trust me, I know what I'm doing.

...I did miss that Star Chip though.

Didn't know if you did. Cassie's still working with Dragons, tho she also has the Allies of Justice she's starting to work with (Only against Light Decks, tho, besides Catastor, that is.

Sorry about the tardiness of this update, I had to add all of the images to the Gallery one-at-a-time because the Mass Upload wasn't working. Here you go!

All right, last time, we were about to finally get Lyra a 'Runner of her own, but then forum!Yusei pointed out we missed a Star Chip.

Lyra: Dark take it.

Which I can't seem to find.

Lyra: Dark take it!

On the plus side, I did find these, which promise much better times on the track. Sadly, we can never use them ourselves.

Lyra: DARK TAKE IT! Let's just get on with the update!

Okay, okay...*sigh* Tyranized by a character of my own creation. I suppose I should be used to it by now. However, there are a few duelists I missed.

(First is Natsumi. Aside from having difficulty finding her daughter, she uses the Unimpeded Fruit deck, a mostly Plant-based deck utilizing cards such as Gigantic Cephalotus, Naturia Strawberry, and Cursed Fig. Her key card is Gigaplant, a fairly powerful Gemini Plant monster that can summon a Plant from the hand or Graveyard once a turn. She attempts to use Lonefire Blossom to tutor it. Probably her most dangerous card, however, is Naturia Beast. 2200 ATK and the ability to negate a Spell for free can be really difficult to beat, even after you've built a good deck. However, as long as you keep the pressure on her, she'll never be able to summon it, at least not in time. She does have Lightning Vortex and Mirror Force, though, so watch out for them.)

(This moment of zen is brought to you by Gordon, whom uses the Gotham Night deck. Sadly, given that it's an Ice Barrier deck, the only reference to the city of Batman fame I suppose is that there was the cryologist whom became Mr. Freeze. It's also very monster-heavy. His most threatening monster (and I assume his key card) is Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier. Trishula boasts 2700 ATK, and the ability to remove from play 1 card each from your hand, field, and Graveyard when it's Synchro Summoned...for free. The upside is that it's both Level 9 and requires at least 2 non-Tuner monsters as Synchro material. He's also very rude while dueling, and uses the very annoying Geomancer of the Ice Barrier.)

(Despite what he says, he'll duel you with his Dandy Deck, which does indeed have a copy of Dandylion. It also is all over the place, including Flamvell, X-Saber, Six Samurai, Ninja, and other random monsters. It's almost a Highlander (no multiples) deck, except he has doubles of Don Zaloog, Flamvell Magician, and White Magical Hat. Yeah, White Magical Hat. It's that random.)

(And Hideki here uses Embarassing Crush, a deck that tries to set up any of the multitude of 2-monster attack locks, and uses them to summon Arcana Force EX - The Light Ruler, Destiny Hero - Plasma, or Belial, Marquis of Darkness. So why the name? Well, while it's not his key card, he does have 3 copies of Magician's Valkyria in his deck...

Okay! Hideki is our last duelist we can face for right now, so we can go)

(Treasure hunting! While the treasure chest under the Old Highway bridge isn't there yet (and the box that is there is empty), you can still find a 1500 DP code right here on that screen. So you still have racing seed money, if you need it. Now we can get Lyra her Duel Runner.)

(Lyra: Finally!)

Yusei: That Prototype Duel Runner I was holding on to for you is running pretty good now. Wanna take it for a test ride? (Oddly enough, the dialog ends here, and you have to talk to him again.)

Yusei: So will you take the Duel Runner for a spin?

Lyra: You don't have to ask me twice! *under her breath* Even if you just did...

Yusei: Okay then, I'll get it ready for you. Why don't you put on this riding suit?

Lyra: Right. I'll just find somewhere to change.

Lyra: Me? Crazy? Never. I'll be fine out there. *speeds off*

(So, the Old Highway. Like the Domino City highway, the course has completely changed from its 2009 incarnation. Probably most notable is a decrease in obsticles on the track, I think there's just the one rock. That doesn't mean there aren't any dangers though.)

(See that gaping pit to the right? You can actually fall into it, and there's a rough stretch of road below, which will drain your endurance and kill your time, and there are four places where the track branches off into a rough stretch and a smooth stretch.)

(Also new are these, DP Coins. Every course will have them from now on, and they're worth a certain amount of DP depending on their color. Bronze (shown here) is worth 10 DP, Silver worth 50, and Gold worth 100. At least one will be on the course during any given run, and any combination can appear, but only one of each color will appear per race. If you collect all the coins that appear during a race on the Simulator, you get a 150 DP bonus, meaning you'll get at least 160 DP in addition to the other race bonuses, making racing a viable DP-grinding alternative to duels.)

(Pardon the missing Duel Runner in this shot, I hit a wall and paused the game while the Duel Runner was in mid flash. This is probably the cruelest element of the course, *not* falling into the chasm dumps you on the rough patch of road. So kick reason to the curb and drop to proceed! Fortunately, the next two drops don't make you guess.)

(The other collectable item on the tracks are these cards. While 1 or 2 of the Coins will sometimes be missing, three cards will always appear on the track during each race. They may appear in different spots, but they will always be present. Each card awards you a Speed Spell card after the race, drawn from all the Speed Spells in the game, and collecting all three awards you a bonus of 50 DP in simulator races. They come in two variants. Normal backing, of which there are two, and blue backing (seen here). I believe the blue card has a higher chance of being rare. Also, you can increase your chances of getting rare Speed Spells by equipping a special engine, and it's pretty much the only way to get the forbidden Speed Spell cards, which aren't available in either Acceleration pack.)

(There's one of the rocks on this course, turns out I was wrong and there are two. I passed one which I hit on my way to take this shot. There's actually a pit behind me on the left, and the rock I hit blocks the center of the right "lane," making it difficult to avoid. Both pits land you on the same stretch of rough road. Oh, and the gold coin ahead is always in this spot, if it appears at all.)

(The silver coin is missing, so we only come away with 110 DP, but I manage to nab all 3 cards. First up is Speed Spell - Summon Close, a nifty card that lets you discard a card when you have 3 or more Speed Counters, draw another card from your deck, and lock your opponent out of Special Summoning for the turn. Did I mention it's a Quick-Play Spell?)

(Okay, so it's not always a Speed Spell, sometimes it's a trap related to Speed Counters. Des Accelerator activates when you take damage, and then gives you 1 Speed Counter for every 300 points of damage you took. My absolute favorite Speed Counter Trap has to be Full Throttle though, which I'll cover once we actually get.)

(We seriously lucked out here, and got a second Ultra-Rare Speed Spell. High Speed Crash requires you to have at least 2 Speed Counters (though you don't remove them), and destroys 1 card you control plus one other card on the field. Very useful if combined with something like Sangan or Dark Coffin, which have beneficial effects when destroyed. Otherwise, it's 2-for-1 removal, not often useful.)

Lyra: Right. Pity I can't duel on it yet, I've always wanted to try that.

Yusei: You should use this part. It'll help go faster. [sic]

You revieved "Turbo Chip I."

Lyra: Hey, thanks!

Yusei: By the way, I hear that the Duel Runner shop will be reopening soon. You can buy parts there or practice riding a Duel Runner using the simulator on the store's computer. The number of items and practice courses may increase over time. You should pop in every now and then.

Lyra: I'll keep that in mind.

(Like Yusei says, the parts store is now open. Unfortunately, all it sells right now are the basic Beta and Gamma Frames, along with the first tier of Shields, making it pretty boring. As usual, the Gamma Frame is lightweight giving it plenty of room for optional gear and great handling, but the lack of onboard armor gives it low endurance. The Beta Frame is heavily reinforced, giving it great endurance, but the armor makes it too heavy to load up with optional equipment or turn well. And finally the Alpha Frame is the middle of the road. Usually I prefer the Gamma Frames for their customibility, but right now I'll just stick with the Alpha Frame. As of right now, it's the only frame that can equip the Turbo Chip Yusei gave us, and we can't even buy the parts that the Gamma Frame can equip, making its high load weight useless. While I'm here, though, I can check out the Simulator.)

(Here you can race on any track you've been on before, in either Time Attack or Battle mode. I probably don't need to explain the difference. You can choose from one of three difficulty levels for each mode on each track, though the higher difficulties are locked until you complete the game. Assuming you can get all the coins and cards, you'll get about 300 DP on average, roughly equivalent to a duel. You'll get more as you unlock better parts and clear higher levels.)

(The shop also sports another duelist: Rossi and his Duel Catenaccio deck, which focuses on high DEF monsters and Canyon to inflict damage. He also has a few burn cards, Burden of the Mighty and Shrink for your high ATK cards, and Battle Mania to force you to fight. That last is especially annoying if he's already used Ojama Trio. You'll have to attack with three 0 ATK tokens into what's most likely a 2000 DEF monster, and if Canyon is in play or the monster is Stone Statue of the Aztecs, you'll take double damage, turning it into a loss for you. Oh, remember those super special awesome wing parts we found?)

Rossi: I know that my acceleration needs work...but I just don't have the spare funds I need to buy some Wing parts. So can I have some Wing SP?

Lyra: Well...I was going to use them myself.

Rossi: Ah, well... It was worth a shot... (This is what he says if you turn him down. Sadly, like I said, you can't actually use the Wing SP parts yourself.)

Lyra: No, it's okay. You can have them.

You gave away "Wing SP."

Rossi: Ohhh, thanks! This is just a card, but consider it a thank you. Here, take it! Now I can finally get outta this slump!

(Just a card indeed! Colossal Fighter is a 2800 ATK monster that when destroyed in battle lets you revive any Warrior-Type monster from your Graveyard, including itself! It also gains 100 ATK for every Warrior in either Graveyard, and is our magic Level 8. To the Password Machine! While it costs 1000 DP per Fighter, that gives us 3 Level 8 Synchro Monsters, making maxing out Flamvell Magician a viable choice. Which in turn means new decklist!)

Lyra, Enforcer Sorceress R-2

21 Monsters
1 Dark Magician
2 Apprentice Magician
1 Breaker the Magical Warrior
1 Chaos Command Magician
2 Chaos Sorcerer
2 Crystal Seer
1 Defender, the Magical Knight
3 Flamvell Magician
2 Royal Magical Library
1 Silent Magician LV4
1 Silent Magician LV8
3 Skilled Dark Magician
1 Summoner Monk

12 Spells
1 Dark Magic Attack
1 Diffusion Wave-Motion
2 Enemy Controller
1 Heavy Storm
1 Lightning Vortex
2 Magical Dimension
1 Mystical Space Typhoon
1 Nobleman of Crossout
1 Nobleman of Extermination
1 Swords of Revealing Light

7 Traps
1 Call of the Haunted
1 Dust Tornado
1 Magic Cylinder
2 Magician's Circle
2 Sakuretsu Armor

11 Extra
1 Ally of Justice - Catastor
1 Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier
3 Colossal Fighter
3 Flamvell Uruquizas
1 Gaia Knight, the Force of Earth
1 Mist Wurm
1 X-Saber Urbellum

(With Flamvell Magician now maxed out, Summoner Monk was an obvious pick, since it and a Spell Card to discard now create an instant Colossal Fighter. The Silent Magicians went in to give Chaos Sorcerer more LIGHT monsters for fuel, and since Skilled Dark Magician is in triplicate, the second Dark Magician seemed extraneous. Sadly, Dark Eradicator Warlock, an Apprentice Magician, and Old Vindictive Magician also had to be cut for space, making Dark Magician the new key card. Now back to your regularly scheduled LP.)

Lyra: Good, but a little bored. It's been a while since we've actually done anything.

Kalin: Not doing enough enforcing?! Then we'll have to get aggressive and attack other duel gangs' turf! That's right! The Enforcers will be the only ones to survive this turf battle and rule Satellite!

Lyra: Heh. Now there's the Kalin I know!

Kalin: Before the next turf battle, let's duel to make sure you're up to par!

Lyra: You're doubting me? Well, I'll just have to remind you why you recruited me in the first place.

(The game doesn't force you into the duel yet, giving you the opportunity to save and visit the card shop if you haven't recently, though I don't believe you're penalized for losing to Kalin here. Duel him whenever you're ready.)

Kalin: Show me what you've got!

Lyra: Here I come!

(Kalin uses, appropriately, The Enforcing Ones. The deck itself is a fairly weak DARK deck that tries to overwhelm you with high-ATK, low-Level DARK monsters. Well, relatively high ATK anyway, and he does have Vorse Raider.)

(This, by the way, is one of the OCG-only artworks I've mentioned, and definitely much better than the bloody demon-thing coming out of Terra the Terrible's head we have in TCG land. If you want, I'll try to point them out as I come across them.)

Kalin: Not bad... Keep it up!

Lyra: *half-serious, half-mocking bow* As you wish, commander.

Kalin: How about you become the leader of The Enforcers instead of me? Heh... Kidding!

Lyra: *laugh* Careful, or I might just take you up on it.

Kalin: Hey, I found this card on the street earlier. Want it?

Lyra: Randomly obtaining cards is good. Sure.

You obtained "Gene-Warped Warwolf"

(Now, if you're not counting wins to abuse Structure Deck rotation and thus build a solid deck, Gene-Warped Warwolf is an excellent card. At 2000 ATK, it's the strongest Level 4 Normal Monster in the game, and also the Level 4 monster with the highest ATK that doesn't have some kind of restriction attached. But since we're focusing on Spellcasters, we can't use it.)

Kalin: You seem to be in pretty good shape, so I've decided that tomorrow's our next turf battle! We've almost conquered all of Satellite. We're about to bring big things to this town!

Lyra: Awesome. I'll be ready.

Kalin: Make sure you let Crow know about tomorrow.

Lyra: All right, all right.

(This comes from the Japanese anime, I think, where Crow often refers to himself as Crow Bullet-sama, meaning roughly "the honorable Crow The Bullet" It's not only a nickname, but a boastful one there.)

Crow: You, too, should be prepared! Don't slack off, and sort your deck out! Oh, and don't forget to wear The Enforcers uniform for the match.

(A-not-so-subtle hint to change out of your Security Uniform if you haven't.)

Lyra: This isn't my first turf battle, I know what I need to do.

Crow: All right, go home and rest up! Tomorrow's a big day!

Lyra: Except I live right here...

(Which apparently you do. I try not to think too hard about it.)

-The Next Day-

Crow: Ready?

Lyra: You bet I am.

Crow: Okay, let's do this! We're gonna meet up with the rest of the team there!

Lyra: Well, we're here now. What can we do?

Kalin: This must be the building where Team Black 'n Blue is hiding. We're so gonna crush all of them! Oh, I heard their leader is pretty strong, but no one knows who he is. Well, still no match to me, heh.

Lyra: Says the man who lost to me 8000-nil yesterday.

Kalin: Anyway, don't get beaten 'til we conquer this area! We can't say we've conquered all of Satellite unless we take over every single area. And I, for one, am not gonna quit until the job's done.

Lyra: I guess that's what matters.

Kalin: Jack and Yusei are looking around in the basement area. I'll head upstairs! You and Crow check out the 1st floor. Duel with everything you got!!!

Lyra: Right. Crow, take the east hall, I'll check for anyone in the west.

??: Argh!

(He's always by that box.)

Lyra: Oh really? Then let's duel!

Arashiyama: You look pretty weak to me. Show me what you got! I think I can beat you!

(Arashiyama uses a Blue Hurricane deck, which...I guess uses a lot of cards that have blue as a major color on their art. There's no real rhyme or reason to his deck, and it should be easy to overpower. Needless to say, we lay a royal beatdown on him.)

Arashiyama: H-hey... You should've told me you were that good before we dueled!

Lyra: And you should have been more willing to defend your friends.

(Arashiyama is the only duelist you have to defeat on this floor, so Crow will stay and make sure no one we missed slips by while Kalan and Lyra clear out the upper floors.)

Lyra: Kalin! Get away from my friend, you bastard!

Lyra: Consider it done. Let's duel!

Clock: Heh! Now it's your turn to go down!

(Clock uses the other half of the equation, Black Chrono, which is a (mostly) DARK deck with Morphtronic Clocken as its win condition. It's fairly weak at 600 ATK and 1100 DEF, but each turn it's in Defense Position, it gains a Clock Counter. Each one gives it 500 ATK while in Attack Position, or, by Tributing it in Defense Position, inflicts 1000 Damage. But since he doesn't have really any defense, you can easily destroy it before it ever becomes a threat.)

Clock: Take him and go... Our leader will sort out the both of you anyway.

Kalin: Sorry, Lyra. You little punk, sneaking up on me like that! How about we duel fair and square and see who wins, huh?!

Clock: Ha! You should be more careful next time!

Kalin: Why you little...!!!

Lyra: Why don't you settle things here and I'll clear the next floor?

Kalin: You go ahead! I'm gonna settle this right here, right now!!!

(The west room on the third floor has this code...chump change, but every DP helps.)

Lyra: That voice...no, it couldn't be!

Hiroyuki: So come on. Let's duel. Go easy on me.

SPECIAL RULE "Draw 2 cards each turn"

(Yep. The feared leader of team Black 'n Blue is...a kid. So a quick rundown: each of the gang leaders, except Kalin, will challenge you to a duel following a special rule that benefits them. Hiroyuki has both players draw 2 cards each turn, and has a deck that utilizes a lot of draw power. Fortunately, "I'm the Boss" isn't an Exodia deck, so you can probably just let him deck himself out. Of course, when you're drawing 2 cards each turn, plus some off of Chainsaw Insect and The Bistro Butcher, you should be able to win long before then. Chainsaw Insect is his key card, by the way.)

Hiroyuki: Aw man, I lost! You're pretty good. Everyone said I should be the leader 'cause I'm so strong, but...I'm not sure if I agree anymore... I hope everyone will believe me when I tell them how good you were.

Lyra: Thanks, I guess.

Hiroyuki: Anyway, I'm going home now. Bye!

Lyra: Okay, that's got to be one of the weirdest things I've ever done.

Lyra: That was a lot easier than the rumors lead me to believe.

Crow: After all that talk about how strong their leader was, I gotta tell ya, I was a little nervous!

(I just love his facial expression here.)

Jack: Age doesn't matter. Just skill. That's what dueling is all about. Especially here in the B.A.D. Area.

Lyra: Jack's got a point. Even if his skill wasn't very high, he was the best of the team.

Crow: That's true. We're all who we are today because of dueling.

Lyra: I guess that's true, but...talk about a non-sequitur

Crow: Okay, let's meet up with Kalin and Yusei and get back to the hideout.

Crow: Haha, yeah! I can't believe their leader was that little kid, though!

Kalin: Hey, a leader is a leader, kid or not. He was pretty tough.

Lyra: No he wasn't! I beat him 8000-0 in 5 turns!

Kalin: But either way, you beat him, and that's all that matters!

Jack: I...heard you got captured by some rival gang, Kalin. You okay?

Kalin: That little punk came out of nowhere and got me from behind! What a dirty trick!

Lyra: He was just too afraid to duel you, I think.

Kalin: But I guess I would have to resort to tactics like that, too, if I was that bad at dueling! Hahaha!

Yusei: So did you go all out on him?

Kalin: I beat him to a pulp all right...in a duel. Fair and square.

Crow: Fair and square, eh?

Kalin: What?!

Crow: Nothing, I just feel sorry for the guy. That's all. Getting beaten to a pulp by you in a duel definitely doesn't feel good, I'll tell ya that.

Kalin: Hey, he attacked me first!!!

Lyra: He's not saying it wasn't justified, we're just glad you're on our side.

Jack: Well, more importantly, we've conquered almost all of Satellite. But don't get cocky. It's not over yet.

Crow: Yeah, you're right. So what area are we goin' for next?

Yusei: Don't get ahead of yourself. First, we have to make sure we know our opponents.

Kalin: Yusei's right. I'll go stake out the next area tomorrow or something.

Jack: All right. Let's call it a day. Get some rest. You may not feel it right now, but your body's probably exhausted.

Lyra: Dark take it, Jack. I was doing fine until you mentioned it...*yawn*

Kalin: I'll let you know once we decide on our next opponent. I hope you're as stoked as I am!

Lyra: Equal parts stoked and tired.

Next time on Let's Play: Reverse of Arcadia!

Lyra: I take the time to loot both The Enforcers building and Team Black 'n Blue's hideout, and help a mother find her lost daughter. Then more kid-saving as we take on Team Dirty Tricks, whose repertoire includes kidnapping. See it all unfold next time on Reverse of Arcadia!

Aren't you glad I do completionist runs of this game then? This game's a lot more forgiving than Stardust Accelerator (you can easily complete the entire story off of The Dark Emperor and Duel Runner upgrades alone), but it's quite a bit of fun to get access to cards you're not expected to have just yet.

In other news, I've also written out the next update, but am still having issues with the Gallery. I might get it up today if I can tear myself away from SoulSilver long enough and have the patience to single-upload everything, but in the meantime, is it time to change Lyra's deck?

As of the next update, Lyra's short on DP but has what might be the last revision of her Lyra, Enforcer Sorceress deck, and she's going to go through a chapter where she won't be able to spend any DP she collects until after it's over (or I cheat and go to World Championship mode). After it's over, however, she'll be soon able to take her pick of the Structure Decks and right now she has access to Dark Beginnings 1&2, Dark Revelations 1&2, Soul of the Duelist, Rise of Destiny, Flaming Eternity, Cybernetic Revolution, Shadow of Infinity, Power of the Duelist, Strike of Neos, Synchro Awaken!!, Invasion of Worms!!, Justice Strikes Back!!, and World Championship Edition 1&2. I think I can reasonably get World Championship Edition 3 right now as well. So I could probably come up with:

- LV decks. Armed Dragon, Horus the Black Flame Dragon, AD/Horus hybrid, Silent Swordsman/Silent Magician hybrid, or a SS/Mystic Swordsman hybrid. I'd kind of like to avoid Horus though, since I've been too reliant on him in WC games past, and Lyra's not a Dragon duelist.

- Cyber Dragon. While Cyber Eltanin is a ways off still, Cybernetic Revolution offers the original and its major fusions, I can get Proto-Cyber Dragon out of Shadow of Infinity, and Absolute Powerforce's Cyber Dragon Zwei is actually very obtainable.

- E-Hero Neos. It won't be a very good Neos deck (if such a beast exists), but I can make one. Straight Elemental Heroes are out of the question for now because I lack both the Manga heroes and The Lost Millenium.

- Machina Beatdown. It's better than it sounds.

- Garlandorph/Demise. Less awesome without Preparation of Rites and Djinn Releaser of Rituals, but still workable. Could even go for somewhat of a Chaos or Sky Scourge theme since Rituals tend to support that.

- Gemini Warriors. With Warrior's Strike and copious amounts of password abuse, I think I can come up with a deck that uses Geminis pretty well. Lack of Black Brutdrago and Gemini Spark is gonna hurt though.

- Leviathans. Please don't make me do this, the best WATER cards outside of what's in Fury from the Deep and Absolute Powerforce won't be available until after the story unless I find WATER duelists to grind against, and I hate WATER decks. But I can come up with something to abuse Codarus, if I must.

- Five-Headed Dragon. Again, Lyra's not a Dragon duelist, but I could build something that utilizes it.

I'd kinda like to see a warrior deck, tho as Cassie's second deck shows, she's much a Dragon Duelist. :P Might be fun to see a hybrid Machine/Cyber Dragon beatdown deck, if that's possible.

Eh, patience may be a virtue, but I'm not feeling particularly virtuous. I'll go ahead and start working on that Cyber Dragon deck during the next update. In the meantime, something to tide you over.

All right, I promised looting, so here's some loot, starting with the abandoned building we found treasure outside earlier...guess it's not so abandoned, huh?

What's that...? There's something under the desk.

(Enemy Controllers are always good, especially when we get to the point where opponents actually have cards like Tragoedia and Gorz the Emissary of Darkness. This one's actually our third, and replaces Diffusion Wave-Motion in the deck.)

(As you can see, this box contains 300 DP. Chump change, but at least it's free. That's all we'll be able to collect for now...but Lyra's got a bunch of DP burning a hole in her pocket and the Runner shop is finally selling things besides shields and frames.)

(Speaking of shields, they're unchanged from Stardust Accelerator. You have the Frame Shield, which protects from impacts against rocks and the like, the Wheel Shield, which protects from obsticles like oil slicks, and the Full Shield that protects against everything but has much lower endurance. There are actually two new items that can occupy a frame slot, but they aren't available yet.)

(You might remember the Wings and Side Armor from Stardust Accelerator, and they do the same thing as there. Wings increase top speed and acceleration, while Side Armor improves endurance. Feathers are new to this game, and improve breaking as well as providing a much more substantial boost to acceleration than Wings.)

(Again, the Booster and Hi-Booster work exactly like in Stardust Accelerator (Hi-Booster dashes for longer but has less uses), and the Turbo Jet is new. If you hit a "dash plate" (the accelerator pads), the boost lasts for longer.)

(And finally the interior parts. Accelerators, Turbo Chips, and Balancers work as before, while the Quick Chip acts as a start-of-race turbo. It'll give a massive acceleration and top speed boost for 10 seconds, but then reduce your top speed and acceleration for the rest of the race. The final Quick Chip has a massive penalty after its duration expires, but if you can complete the course without crashing into anything, it'll give amazing times in Time Attack. It's the only new part I don't really like though. Lyra buys everything, knocking us down by about 5000 DP, but it results in this:)

(Not excellent, but will definitely help in the next event it's required in.)

(Taking it for a test spin actually yields Full Throttle, which as I mentioned is my favorite Turbo Duel Trap Card. Why? It's simple, the card gives you an extra Speed Counter during every Standby Phase. That might not sound like much, but it means you can use a Speed Spell that costs 4 counters every turn, which includes stuff like Angel Baton now. Playing multiples would actually make cards like Speed Spell - Raigeki viable. The other cards are much less spectacular, Speed Spell - Tremendous Fire and Speed Booster.)

Lyra: Huh...what was that?

Crow: Hey, Lyra.

Lyra: Oh, hi, Crow.

Lyra: Well, I just saw...

(I think this is the first we see of Annie. She, along with Itsuki, is one of the kids Crow takes care of. And a little kid whose slightly less evil than kids in Satellite tend to be.)

Lyra: He what?!

Crow: What?! Who kidnapped him?!

Annie: I don't know, but they took him away on a Duel Runner!

Crow: Agh! I wonder where they went off to...

Lyra: A Duel...I saw a couple go off this way! *points*

Crow: What?! You saw Duel Runners that looked like the ones that took Itsuki away?

Lyra: Well, no, but I did see a couple flee, and that's pretty suspicious.

Crow: Nice! Let's go after 'em! Annie, you stay here in the house!

Annie: Okay! Just please bring Itsuki back!

Crow: Lyra, you go ahead on your Duel Runner! Hurry!

(Despite what he says, you need to talk to him again to begin the event. Coincidentally, it's game over if you lose, so you might want to save in his/your house first.)

Lyra: Let's hope we can get to him in time...

Crow: Let's go, Lyra!

(Remember the escape races where you had to get away from Trudge in Stardust Accelerator? Well, here you get to do the opposite, try to run your opponent down. The race ends either when you pass your opponent or your opponent crosses the finish line, and they get a fair headstart. However, the opponent racing AI sucks in this game, so as long as you don't crash a lot, you'll do fine. Lyra caught up to him in 11.09 seconds)

(Ah, my apologies on the team name.)

Lyra: Maybe because you can't handle a Duel Runner to save your life?

Kuroe: The Enforcers!!! I'm calling you punks out! Duel!

Lyra: *laughs* You mean you honestly think you can defeat us? Crow, let's teach these idiots a lesson.

Lyra: Hard to underestimate dirt.

Crow: Bring it on!

(Ah, Kameno. His Lucky Turtle Shell deck was the first roadblock of Stardust Accelerator, but fortunately it's much more forgiving here. Rather than being a mill deck, he has a lot of Turtle themed cards (UFO Turtle, Pyramid Turtle, Gora Turtle, Crystal Beast Emerald Tortoise) and defensive Trap cards meant to keep his cards alive rather than destroy your own cards. His key card is Catapult Turtle, which I suppose would be his win condition if his monsters didn't have such pathetic ATK. There's no way he'll be able to launch enough monsters to finish you, so just lay the beat on him as hard as you can. If you can summon it, Ally of Justice Catastor is excellent here since it can destroy most of his monsters even through Castle Walls, Mask of Weakness, or Waboku.)

Kameno: Hey, you're not bad.

Kuroe: Grrr! We're not gonna forget this!

Lyra: Good. Maybe next time you try kidnapping one of Crow's kids, you'll remember the beatdown we gave you.

Crow: *as Kuroe runs off* Don't forget who you're messin' with!

Kameno: H-hey, wait up!!!

Lyra: Well, we weren't just going to leave you there, were we?

Crow: Are you okay?!

Itsuki: I'm fine! I knew you two would come and save me, so I wasn't scared at all!

Crow: Good. Let's go home.

Itsuki: *runs over to the bookshelf and back* Thanks for saving me back there! Here, take this card, Lyra!

You obtained "Kunai with Chain"

Lyra: For me? Thank you.

(While it's not very useful in competition, Kunai with Chain is a fairly useful card this early on, especially if you're using a deck based on Warrior's Strike.)

Annie: Come on, Itsuki!

Itsuki: Okay!

Crow: Don't go and get yourself caught like that again, all right?

Itsuki: No problem! Besides, I know you guys'll come and save me again even if I do!

Lyra: *sighs* He's right, but I think he's taking the wrong lesson away from this...

Crow: Uh, but... Ahhh, forget it... Lyra, thanks for the help. We wouldn't have even been able to find them without you.

Lyra: He's practically family, don't sweat it.

Crow: Itsuki talks big, but I know he was scared to death. I'm just glad you were around to help!

Lyra: *grin* What would you do without me?

Lyra: What did he want?

Annie: I told him you guys were out, so he told me to tell you to come by the hideout when you get back. So for the record, I DID give you the message if anyone asks!

Crow: Doesn't anybody know how to just relax around here...?

Lyra: It's boring. Come on, let's go.

Crow: Well, I guess Kalin's waiting on us. Let's go on over to the hideout.

(And so we shall. But first, more loot!)

(Now that we've beaten Team Black 'n Blue, we can invade their hideout at our leisure. The basement level houses a block puzzle that conceals several treasures, and because it's optional, it's a lot harder than the ones from Stardust Accelerator. The first treasure is easy to collect on. Just push the block to the right there a space to the right.)

(Like that. Here's what it looks like, if you're curious:)

(Now for the next one. Still easy, just go to this group of blocks here)

(And arrange them like so)

(The box in the lower left contains 1500 DP, and the box in the upper right contains 1000. From the upper right box, there's a hollow under the bridge that leads you here:)

(Simply push the box to the right one space rightand go down to proceed.)

(Just climb the stairs to the right and go across, then double back on the ground floor to collect this treasure.)

(To access the rest of the area, just keep pushing that block, you'll eventually be able to get it into an alcove where it's out of the way.)

(Like so.)

(Push this box left, the box below it down, and take the stairwell to another treasure.)

(This Star Chip, in fact)

(Push this box left and go up for a shortcut to the entrance, you'll have to exit and return to reset the puzzle and get that last box.)

(While taking it, you'll run into something. Press A and recover this treasure, a cool 2000 DP. Once you re-enter, repeat the steps up until this point)

(What you want to do this time is push the lower box to the left, and both of the upper boxes one space up.)

(Like so. Your reward is a Magical Android. Return the way you came, ditch the basement, and save. You don't want to repeat any of these puzzles, though that one was pretty tame. Since giving directions is kind of complicated, I'll just video them from now on.)

(In the same room as the save point, you can now conveniently find this box holding a Magical Hats card. No, it wasn't there earlier.)

(This box is in the west room on the second floor. This is actually much earlier than you should be able to obtain Councilor Lily, she's from the Extra Pack 2, which you can't obtain until after the story. Her stats are the same as Injection Fairy Lily, but she's a Tuner that gives the summoned Synchro monster 1000 extra ATK for the turn by paying 500 Life Points when used as Synchro Material. Unfortunately, she's also a Fairy-Type instead of Spellcaster-Type, so we can't really use her. Pity, Spellcasters could really use a Level 3 Tuner.)

(And this Black Horn of Heaven is in Hiroyuki's old room. Sadly, all of team Black 'n Blue have abandoned the place, so we can't duel them.)

(But, now that Itsuki is back, Annie will duel you. She uses a Naturia deck, which is based on the Naturia archetype, which in turn attempts to control your card usage. Fortunately, it's not a very good Naturia deck, and thus shouldn't pose a problem.)

(Oh, and going back inside the house yields a Forbidden Chalice. Nifty. Once you're done looting and dueling, return to the map room in the Enforcer hideout.)

Lyra: Enforcing.

Crow: Itsuki got kidnapped by Team Dirty Works. The two of us went off after 'em.

Kalin: What?! So that's why Annie looked so upset. Is Itsuki all right?

Crow: Yeah, Lyra here saw 'em riding off on their Duel Runners. After that, we were able to catch up to 'em pretty quickly. He's outside playing now.

Kalin: Well, that's good to hear. Grrr!!! I can't believe those Team Dirty Works punks! They're not gonna get away with this!

Lyra: Does that mean what I think it means?

Crow: Yeah, they went too far with this one.

Kalin: What a coincidence. I was just thinking about who to go up against at our next turf battle... This makes things easy, though... Dirty Works it is! Let's go crush those guys right now! Bring your "A" game for this one! We've gotta make them pay!!!

Lyra: Ah, retribution! I love it!

Crow: All right! I'll get ready as quick as possible.

Kalin: Lyra, you gotta hurry up and get ready, too!

Lyra: Don't worry, I'm always ready.

Kalin: I'll go tell Jack and Yusei. Let me know when you're ready. I'll be waiting out front.

(You know the drill. Save, talk to Kalin when you're ready.)

Kalin: That's the hideout of those cowards! There'll be no holding back, clear?

Lyra: Aww, not even to prolong their suffering?

Crow: Let's just bust in there and take 'em out!

Kalin: Yeah! Even if they hide, drag them out kicking and crush them!

Lyra: Now that I can get behind. Let's do this!

Kalin: I'll go first! Jack and Yusei should be here soon, so you stay here and fill them in on what's going on! *enters the hideout*

Crow: I'm goin' with you! *runs after Kalin*

Lyra: Wait, you're making me wait out here for them? No fair!

Lyra: Inside, like we should be.

Jack: Huh? They ran inside just as you got here?

Yusei: They must still be mad about this morning...

Jack: I guess we'd better go help them before they hog all the glory for themselves.

Yusei: Yeah, those two need to learn how to calm down a bit sometimes. When you get hotheaded like that, it's easy to fall into an enemy's trap like Kalin did last time.

Lyra: I hate to admit it, but that's a good point.

Jack: Yeah. You're right. Let's go check things out.

(While they're royal jerks, Dirty Works could have picked a worse place for a hideout. Right now, we're in an arcade. And a few of the games have lines explaining which Konami-made game they are. See if you can name them!

Looks like an arcade game. It says, "The industry's first online battle arcade game."

Looks like an arcade game you play with cards, but it's busted.

Looks like a cool retro game. It says, "The ultimate side-scrolling shooter with a power-up gauge."

Looks like a music game. You can only make out the ending letters, "MANI")

(You can find this in the coin slot of the card-based arcade game, it's a Star Chip)

Kuroe: Hey! You're those punks from this morning!

Lyra: We're baaack!

Kuroe: Attacking so soon? You guys are pretty impatient! Get your decks out! I'll duel ya right now!

Lyra: That's the idea.

Kuroe: You got guts, I'll give ya that!

(All right, Kuroe uses Masterful Magician, which also has been changed from its original incarnation. Rather than being a Dark Magician/Magician's Circle deck, it focuses mostly on Ice Barrier spellcasters with some random weak magicians as well. Definitely a battle of magic heavily in Lyra's favor. Oh, his key card is Dai-sojo of the Ice Barrier, which prevents his Ice Barrier monsters from being destroyed by Spell or Trap effects.)

Kuroe: Heh! We got much more efficient ways of dealing with punks like you than dueling...

Lyra: Such as hiding behind arcade machines?

Kuroe: I think it's about time somebody fell into our little trap...

Lyra: Trap...Yusei! Jack!

(Entering the bowling alley above the arcade will result in your character pushing Yusei out of the way right before this pile of rocks fall upon the place where he'd been standing.)

Yusei: What?!

Lyra: *breathing heavily* I was...tipped off. Lucky I got here in time, huh?

Yusei: Lyra... If it wasn't for you, I'd be...

Lyra: Dead. These bastards aren't playing around.

Yusei: Thank you.

Lyra: We'd do the same for any of us. It's just how friends are. But there's more where these came from, a lot more.

Yusei: What? There are a lot of traps set in the area, huh? I guess they were expecting us. We should let the others know.

Lyra: It might be a bluff, we may have got here before they could set up any more. But be careful.

Yusei: I'll go tell them. You stay here and keep an eye out for the enemy!

Kameno: Huh?! You're still alive! How the heck did you escape?! It took us forever to set it up, man!

Lyra: *dangerously calm* Because you and I have unfinished business. Kidnapping Itsuki was heinous. Attempting to kill me and my friends is unforgivable.

Kameno: Oh well. Guess I'll have to finish you off with a duel!

Lyra: Then come.

Kameno: Lemme warn you now, we didn't set up those traps 'cause we stink at dueling or anything like that!

(Kameno's deck is unchanged. He's still not a threat.)

Lyra: Not a bad idea. Maybe I'll draw your pathetic leader from hiding.

(Turns out, we don't have to, returning to the arcade causes Ida to confront you automatically.)

Ida: I heard all about what you did to some of my crew. Don't think you can just bust into somebody's hideout like that and get away with it! Bring it on!

Lyra: So you're the one behind it all. You won't go unpunished, I'm making sure of that! Duel!

Ida: You're gonna regret ever comin' to this part of town!

(Ida's special rule is that we play a match instead of a regular duel. Like his henchmen, his Ida Dragon deck has changed from its Stardust Accelerator incarnation. There, it was a Red-Eyes deck, here he uses a Frost and Flame Dragon deck. It's still pretty terrible, though said key card can be troublesome if you ever allow it to reach play.)

Ida: Grrr!!! And I worked so hard on my team...

Lyra: Focus more on the "get better at dueling" and less on the "kidnappings and deathtraps" next time. *Ida flees*

Yusei: So you defeated their leader, huh? Looks like we've taken this area, too, then.

Lyra: Huh? Oh, yeah, guess we have. How're-

Yusei: Don't worry, the other members are fine. Kalin and Crow actually handled the trap really well.

Lyra: That's a relief.

Yusei: And I owe my safety to you. Thank you.

Lyra: I already told you, it's part and parcel of being friends.

Yusei: Well, I know we're friends, but I stll just wanted to say thanks.

Lyra: Oh. Well, you're welcome. But my point still stands

Yusei: Yeah, that's for sure. We all really do have some great friends. Hey, let's meet up with everybody and get back to the hideout.

Kalin: But it's too soon to get complacent just yet. We've still got one more area to conquer!

Crow: We're almost there, though!

Jack: It was a long battle... Do you really think we can conquer all of Satellite?

Lyra: Come on, we've come too far to stumble at the finish line.

Crow: Heh, are you kiddin'? We've got it sewn up!

Kalin: Of course! But be sure you all tweak your decks to perfection just to be sure! We wouldn't want to have come all this way just to lose here at the very end! All right, that's all for today. I'll let you know whenever we decide the day of the battle.

(The day ends, and you start in Crow's/your house. Of course, now that team Dirty Works is down for the count, we can safely loot the treasure that they leave behind but wasn't there when we first arrived.)

(The arcade has this Defender, the Magical Knight which will go straight into the deck.)

(The lower left corner contains a Prime Material Dragon, which is incredibly useful.)

(And the bowling alley hides a Shrink. With all that done, it's time for a break into the World Championship.)

(World Championship is as it always is, presenting an array of opponents for you to defeat. Intrestingly, all of the World Championship series booster packs are unlocked simply by unlocking opponents, rather than defeating them, with the exception of World Championship Edition 1. To unlock that particular pack, you'll have to defeat the starting 6 opponents 3 times. Since their strategies aren't all obvious, I'll go ahead and give you a rundown.

Princes Pikeru: Uses Volcanic Queen and Burden of the Mighty to try to summon either herself or Princess Curran. More annoying than dangerous.

Herald of Green Light: Uses the three Herald monsters, along with assorted LIGHT monsters and Honest to try to control the cards you play while Destiny Board ticks down in the background. If he ever summons a LIGHT monster with less ATK than one of your monsters and just leaves it there, he's sitting on Honest. Try to draw out a Herald before attacking it so that he discards his Honest first.

Fortune Lady Light: Uses...well, Fortune Ladies. She attempts to get out either Fortune Lady Dark or Fortune Lady Earth and protect them with Slip of Fortune and Bending Destiny while they quickly become too powerful for you to defeat in battle. Easily defeated if you keep Dark and Earth off the field.

Vennominaga the Deity of Poisonous Snakes: Reptile/Venom deck focused on herself. She uses Burden of the Mighty as well to accelerate decay due to Venom Swamp. Very, very frustrating.

Nanobreaker: Uses Konami cameo monsters and video game promotional Spell/Trap cards. Herself, Ninja Grandmaster Sasuke, Goe Goe the Valliant Ninja, Lady Ninja Yae, Tactical Espionage Unit, and I think some of the Gradius series cards. It works really as a basic beatdown, but also has access to Burden of the Mighty. I'm getting a theme here...

Izanami: Uses a Spirit deck. Really, the worst I've seen her do is use Mausoleum of the Emperor to continuously summon Dark Dust Spirit, though I'm certain she has double Tribute Spirits somewhere.)

(Every time you beat a CPU opponent or tag team for the first time in World Championship mode, you'll get a Star Chip. Given that you can unlock 72 CPU duelists and 36 CPU teams, the bulk of your Star Chips are going to come from this. We currently have 9 Star Chips, 3 from the Story and 6 from defeating that wave of WC duelists.)

(Unchanged from last game, but I'm actually not hunting for Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon this time.)

(This was my goal. While I won't be able to properly use him until I obtain Sage's Stone, which is in WCE2, he makes for an impressive boss monster. All right, back to the story. Go up towards the Enforcer Hideout to trigger this event.)

Lyra: 'Lo. What's up?

Kalin: You beat that leader last time, didn't you? I was gonna handle it, but it looks like you went and stole my thunder!

Lyra: I...what? He challenged me, you can't expect me to deliberately lose so you can claim him!

Kalin: All right, Lyra. You and me duel right now. I won't take no for an answer! I'm not gonna let you hog all the glory!

(This, obviously, is for Kalin's pride as leader, so I suppose the graceful thing to do is let him win.

Lyra: No way am I going to do that!

Or you could just crush him. I don't think it makes a difference.)

Kalin: Here, use this card and you'll be even better!

You obtained "Shield Crush"

(Oh, I think you don't get the card if you lose.)

Kalin: Anyway, I'll check out the remaining turf.

(Once Kalin leaves, go back and talk to Crow to proceed.)

Crow: I just finished tweaking my deck. Let's duel so I can try it out! We didn't get a chance last time, so this is a great opportunity!

Lyra: Ahh, why not? Should be fun.

Crow: All right, let's duel!

(Crow's Ascending Legend deck is actually fairly threatening - Blackwings are a very powerful archetype, even in the form Crow uses right now. Fortunately, his only Synchro monster is Blackwing Armor Master, which while powerful, requires Gale + one of his Level 4 monsters or Blizzard + Sirroco, and he doesn't reliably draw into his most powerful monsters.)

Crow: Oh man, I lost! Guess my deck needs a little more tweakin'... Well, here's your reward for winning. Go on, take it!

You obtained "Raigeki Break"

(Another situationally useful card at this stage)

Lyra: Thanks.

Kalin: Oh, you're both here. The final turf battle is tomorrow!

Crow: Yeah, I can't wait for it!

Lyra: One last battle and the Enforcers will rule it all...

Kalin: We're up against Team Non-Securities. I hear they've got a lot of members.

Lyra: Yeah, and most of them marked.

Crow: A big team, eh? I guess I better work on my deck more and get it just right for tomorrow.

Kalin: That's right. No matter who we're up against, you always gotta prepare for the worst.

Crow: Don't worry! I'll build an invincible deck by tomorrow!

Kalin: I'll make sure Yusei and Jack are both filled in on what's going on, too. Lyra, make sure you're all good to go for tomorrow, too.

Lyra: Got it.

Crow: I guess I better go ahead and start gettin' ready then.

Annie: Hey! I wanna duel with Lyra, too!

Itsuki: I called it first!

Annie: No way! I wanna go first!

Crow: Come on, no fighting! Besides, Lyra is busy getting ready for tomorrow.

Lyra: Thanks for the save.

Itsuki: Yeah, but she promised!

Annie: She promised me, too!

Itsuki: Did not!

Annie: Did too!

Crow: *sigh* Did you really promise to duel these two?

Lyra: Not that I recall.

Crow: Yeah, I didn't think so... *sigh* Kids... Look, I'll duel you instead. How 'bout that?

Itsuki & Annie: No way! We don't wanna duel you, Crow! That's never any fun!

Crow: What...?! Oh, NOW you two finally agree on something! Humph! Fine then. How 'bout this? You two team up together. Then Lyra and I will duel you two in a tag duel. NOW are you happy?

Lyra: Do I get a say in this?

Crow: Hey, sorry. Hopefully it'll only take a minute. They'll never shut up if we don't...

Lyra: Too true.

Itsuki: Fine.

Annie: It's better than dueling Crow by himself...I guess.

Crow: You guys need to learn some respect! Who's raising you kids anyway?!

(The combination of their expressions and that retort...I love it.)

Crow: Ugh... Oh yeah...

Lyra: Looks like they've got you there.

Crow: Well, anyway... You all know the rules for tag duels, don't ya?

(And then there's this. Do they have to be so enthusiastic about it?)

Crow: Yeah, I didn't think so... You wanna hear the rules, too, Lyra?

Lyra: Nah, I already know how to tag duel.

(Unlike in Stardust Accelerator, you can skip the tag and turbo duel tutorials. Nice for those of us who've played the game before, or Stardust Accelerator, for that manner.)

Crow: Yeah, wouldn't wanna bore ya. Hold on a sec while I explain them to the kiddies.

(Go ahead and take a moment to save before talking to Crow to start the duel. Your opponents aren't very threatening, but you and Crow could get a horrible draw.)

Itsuki & Annie: We can't wait!!!

(Itsuki & Annie, using the name "Two Cute" for their team, are...well, pretty easy to defeat. Their component strategies don't really complement one another, and conflict in Field Spells, at least. They're also not powerful enough on their own to pose a threat. You're only going to lose if you get screwed on draws.)

Crow: All right! We make a great team! Put this card in your deck. It will improve our tag partnership!

You obtained "The Calculator"

(Ah, good for swarm decks, Demise, and Yubel. Not so good with our Magicians.)

Crow: Are you satisfied now? Look, we've gotta get ready for tomorrow, so you two go play outside.

Itsuki: You guys have another turf battle tomorrow?

Crow: Yep. If we win tomorrow, we'll have conquered all of Satellite!

Itsuki: Wow, cool! Good luck, Lyra!

Annie: And to you too, Crow! *both leave*

Crow: Those two are a handful...

Lyra: Yet you love them anyways.

Crow: Lyra, you're gonna start getting ready for tomorrow too, right?

Lyra: That's right. Have to be prepared as we can.

Crow: You should try dueling a lot of different people.

(Crow's advice is pretty sound, if you haven't been. For now, however, Lyra's going to spend some DP on Runner parts. The second tier of everything is unlocked now, as well as this.)

(This is one of the new front parts I mentioned, the Cool Down. It only comes in one level, but gives you endurance regen by sacrificing some performance. I haven't actually used it before, so I can't tell you how much the trade-off hurts. Whenever you're ready to start kicking tail, just talk to Crow.)

(That...seems really incongruous. Well, maybe not. You want to fall asleep the day before something big so that you can pass the hours quickly. Which is why often you can't sleep.)

Lyra: Yeah, I'm going to at least try to sleep.

Crow: All right! Let's do our best tomorrow!

-The Next Day-

Crow: It's time for our last turf battle. The others are probably already waiting on us. Let's go!

(I just want to point out that they walk really dramatically slowly here.)

Kalin: I'm gonna enjoy this! You're all ready, right? I'm not known for my patience!

Crow: I'm not askin' you to wait! I'm itching to get moving right now!

Lyra: This is it...our last battle together. Let's savor these duels.

Yusei: This may be the last turf battle, but it's no place for a letup.

Jack: Whoever's out there waiting for us, let's meet them head-on!

Kalin: The Enforcers, let's go! *runs off*

Crow: All right! *runs off*

Lyra: Team Non-Securities, I wonder...can you satisfy us? *walks in with Jack and Yusei*

(The camera pans over to these two from their counterparts. Also, that's either a typo because we're playing a girl or an oblique and ineffectual insult. I think it's the former.)

Hashinoshima: If we continue thrashing them one by one, this'll be a cakewalk! Hahaha!

Lyra: *grinning* I really don't like your odds. Four flunkies against one Enforcer? A losing proposition right there.

Jack: Lyra!

Lyra: I know you'd really love to teach them some manners, but do you think you could spare a couple for me? I'm really bored.

Igusa: One of your friends wants to join, eh? If that's how it's gotta be, two of us can handle each of you!

Jack: I was going to take on each and every one of them myself, but sure. You deal with those two.

Lyra: Thanks, Jack. I'll give them back if they still have the will to fight after I'm done.

Hashinoshima: Whether it's one or two of you we have to beat, it won't change a thing!

Lyra: No, I don't think it will. Whenever you're ready, boys. (Do take a moment to save first)

Igusa: You mean you're not even the littlest bit scared? You really are cocky!

(Yes, that's right. Its their tag team against you on your lonesome. The only thing that makes this difficult is that they actually have decently complementing strategies. Igusa's Battle is a warrior deck focused on swarming the field and utilizing X-Saber Urbellum and Wayne for power. Power Bridge is an Equip deck that utilizes Guardian Eatos. He will interfere with Igusa's The Immortal Bushi though, and neither of them have much in the way of defense. So if you can outmatch them in power, then the duel is yours.)

Igusa: The two of us together lost? I can't believe this!

Hashinoshima: Huh?! Those two lost, too?! Where'd they go?!

Igusa: Oh, I forgot...! I got an errand to run!

Hashinoshima: Uhhh! Oh, yeah! Phew, my stomach sure is growling. Guess I better go get some chow... Yeah...! *both flee*

Jack: Well, looks like we're both all right.

Lyra: Yeah. Sorry about stealing your opponents.

Jack: Doesn't matter how many of those losers come at me at a time, they're no match.

Lyra: Of course. Now let's go thin them out a little more.

Crow: You should just keep going.

Lyra: Right!

(But not before we collect)

(Upstairs is a save point, again, use it. This next pair is not easy.)

Torino: Hey! Here! Over here!

Torino: Yes, that's so. And don't say that we are acting cowardly. This is all part of a brilliant strategy.

Lyra: "Beat on the invaders 2-on-1 until they give up?" I fail to see the brilliance.

Mitchie: You are out of luck, and you had better just agree to our terms and surrender.

Lyra: Very well, I am prepared to accept your surrender. No? Well then, I suppose we'll just have to duel.

Mitchie: You'll help make us famous!

(This team has less synergy than Outlaws, but is considerably more dangerous...Torino's Powered Bird, a Harpy deck, still falls under the category of "more annoying than dangerous", but Road of Mitchie is a Koa'Ki Meiru deck. It's not very well-built, but it can very easily shut down a deck dependent on its LIGHT and DARK monsters, like Lyra's is. Fortunately, she manages.)

Torino: No! But our strategy was perfect!

Mitchie: ... ... ... (Drat! How could this happen?! Our leader will be furious!)

Torino: ... ... ... (We better do whatever it takes to get out of here.)

Mitchie: ... ... ... (Indeed. We must really work together, dear partner.)

Torino: ... ... ... (Leave it to me, partner!)

Mitchie: ... ... ... This is your doing! You kept getting in my way!

Torino: YOU'RE the one who kept getting in MY way!

Mitchie: Well, had you not been so weak, we wouldn't have had so much trouble!

Torino: I don't believe you! If that is how you really feel, then try me!

Mitchie: That's just what I've been waiting for!

Torino: *to Lyra* Watch it, you! *both push past*

Lyra: That...ranks up there on weirdest things I've seen.

(Past them is another optional block puzzle. As promised, below is a video of the solution.)

(Getting the Worn-Out Clothes outfit (Rock 'n Roller if you're Male) is the hardest part. Here's what it looks like, by the way.)

(Now back to the game.)

Lyra: Yusei! Kalin!

Yusei: Kalin!

Kalin: Ugh...!

Yusei: It's not working! Just let go! Keep this up and you'll fall, too!

Kalin: Are you nuts?! I can't just leave you! No way! Grahhh! I'm...DEFINITELY...not letting you...go!!!

Yusei: Kalin...

Kalin: You're my...friend!!!

(I understand the need for this exchange, but why doesn't your character try to go and help them?

Lyra: Yusei's the one that can spin kick and knock out a suit with a single punch. I don't have the arm strength needed for much beyond carrying a Duel Disk.)

Gushizawa: I never thought that trap would actually work, but it snared both of you. Just smashing! But I wonder how much longer you can continue this little game of friendship... All I have to do is hurt you just a little to get you to let go, am I right? *starts walking over*

Kalin: Grrr!

Yusei: Let go, Kalin! I'll be okay somehow!

Kalin: I'll never let go...even if it means the end of me!

Gushizawa: Haha! Trying to play the hero, eh? Huh...? What are you doing here?

Lyra: Dealing with trash that thinks it's better to deal with their opponents with deathtraps rather than duel. You'll have to go through me to get to them!

Gushizawa: Oh, you're a friend of theirs? And you intend to try and help them, do you? So you'd all like to fall together! Well, in that case, I'm sure it can be arranged!

Kalin: Lyra! We're okay here! I got this! You just put that guy in his place!

Lyra: With pleasure!

Kalin: I wish it could be me, but...I've got my hands full, you could say!

Gushizawa: So, what'll it be? I very much doubt a wimp like you has what it takes to beat me.

Lyra: You wouldn't be the first to underestimate me, and you won't be the last. Let's do this.

Gushizawa: Oh, reall? You're not going to back down? Looks like I'll have to teach you a lesson! I'll finish you up first!

(Gushizawa's special rule is that you start with 4000 LP. Yes, you. Not you and him, just you. To make things worse, Way of Gushizawa is a Six Samurai deck. If you're unlucky, he could easily summon a Six Samurai, summon Grandmaster, run over your defender and attack directly with one of them, then sacrifice both to Six Scrolls of the Samurai for a Shien and end the duel in one turn. However, he has to get really lucky for that. Either keep up a strong defense or overwhelm him with your own powerful monsters and the game is yours.)

Gushizawa: Y-you...?! I didn't expect you to be that good!

Lyra: No one ever does. It's a failing I inspire.

Kalin: Hello there! Having a good time?

Lyra: Why, yes, I am. You?

Gushizawa: Huh?! When did you two...?!

Lyra: *dryly* While we were dueling. Do try to keep up.

Gushizawa: No!!! *flees*

Kalin: Such a pathetic guy!

Yusei: Kalin, Lyra, I'm really sorry about that.

Kalin: Yusei, what are you talking about? We're friends! Friends always help each other out!

Lyra: It could have happened to any of us. None of us would have let go.

Kalin: And to top it off...we've brought this area under our control! Finally, Satellite is united!

Lyra: Hey, that's right!

Yusei: We finally did it.

Kalin: Not to mention, Lyra took down the final leader. You were a huge help, Lyra.

Lyra: *blushes* I try.

Yusei: Definitely. Everyone contributed, that's how we were able to do it. Isn't that right, Lyra?

Lyra: Alone I'd have been exhausted well before I got to the leader. That's definitely true.

Kalin: Ha, it sure is! I tell you, I've got the best friends in the whole world!

Yusei: All right, let's go meet up with Jack and Crow.

Kalin: Yeah! And after that, let's celebrate our victory! Woohoo!!!

And so, the Enforcers were able to fulfill their dream of uniting all of Satellite.

A few days later...

(You're back in the Enforcer HQ with a pensive Jack and Yusei. Trying to leave the building will result in Crow suggesting you duel them.)

Lyra: I don't know. But even if there's no duel gangs left, we can still play the game. For fun, at least.

Yusei: Why don't we have a little duel? Just for fun, of course.

Lyra: I was about to suggest the same thing.

Yusei: Okay! Let's make it a good one!

(As an enforcer, Yusei uses Rallying Warriors, a deck focused on the Synchron warriors and utilizing other signature cards. Strangely, he lacks Stardust Dragon despite the fact that Jack hasn't stolen it yet. His Synchro Warriors are his most threatening cards, and that makes Quickdraw Synchron a major threat since it can be Special Summoned and used for any of his Synchro Warriors. Colossal Fighter should be able to take care of anything he can throw at you, however.)

Yusei: You've gotten really good. Here, give this card a go in your next duel.

You obtained "Quillbolt Hedgehog"

Lyra: I might, thanks.

Yusei: Nobody knows what might happen in the days to come. I've realized that I should treat every single duel as though it were my last.

Lyra: That's kind of depressing...but I suppose that means you'll never have any regrets.

Lyra: I can't be. Even if we control Satellite, there's just...there's got to be more. It can't end like this.

Jack: Dueling is our heart and soul. Come on, let's give it a shot.

Lyra: All right. Let's go.

Jack: Every single duel is a bridge to the future.

(Jack's Dragons' Lair deck mixes dragon monsters with a few of his signature cards: Mad Archfiend, Dark Resonator, Twin-Shield Defender...but like Yusei is missing his Stardust Dragon, Jack lacks his Red Dragon Archfiend. Thus his only Synchro is Exploder Dragonwing, which can be summoned by either Dark Resonator + Blizzard or Luster Dragon or Magna Drago + Vice Dragon. Fortunately, that means if you can field a monster with over 2400 ATK, you should be fine. Just watch for Strong Wind Dragon, it can start with up to 3400 ATK if he tributes a Vice Dragon for it, and 3400 ATK with piercing is scary.)

Jack: Keep aiming high. You can't go wrong. I'm taking a new step forward. Here's proof.

You obtained "Different Dimension Capsule"

(Ah, the poor man's Gold Sarcophagus. It can definitely be useful, but don't fetch a card you can't live without, since any Spell removal keeps that card removed from play permanently.)

Jack: Now that I got my head screwed on straight again...

Lyra: Good luck, Jack.

(Now you can leave...sort of.)

Kalin: You're no match for me at all! You don't have any right to call yourself a duelist!

Kalin: Crying won't make anything better! Now come on, it's your turn! Go on and bring out that pathetic little card I know you wanna play! It won't save you!

Lyra: Kalin?! What the hell are you doing?!

Kalin: Get outta my way!

(You can't get close to him, or he'll push you away, but the game won't let you just leave, either. So go inside and get help.)

Crow: Sounds like somethin' big is goin' down outside... I wonder what happened...

Lyra: It's Kalin...he...he's torturing a duelist out there, just a kid! I tried to do something, but he just shoved me out of the way.

Crow: What?! Really?! Kalin?! We gotta go stop him! *everyone runs out*

Kalin: *takes a step forward, driving the kid to the edge* Listen, if you're going to duel...duel with all you've got!

Crow: Kalin, stop it! *runs in and shoves Kalin aside* Hey, you! Get outta here! *Kiyoto runs off*

Kalin: Whaddaya think you're doing, Crow?!

Crow: I'd like to ask you the same thing! What do you think you're gaining by doing this?

Kalin: Weeding out the weaklings, that's what! And if anyone's not rolling with us, they're our enemies! How else are we going to conquer all of Satellite?

Crow: You think we have to start hurting little kids like that, though?!

Kalin: Yeah! We do! We don't need ANY wannabe duelists around here, no matter how old they are!

Crow: ... ... ... I thought dueling was about the ability to have fun whenever you want, no matter who you are. What gives you the right to take that away from any of us?!

Kalin: What?!

Crow: I'm done. I'm through with this team.

Kalin: *as Crow's leaving* Hey! I thought we were a team! Crow! You're jut gonna turn your back on your friends like that?!

Jack: ... ... ... *leaves as Lyra approaches*

Kalin: Jack! Hey! Jack! Crow! Yusei, we're a team right? We're friends, right?!

Yusei: ... ... ...

Kalin: Come on, say something!

Lyra: *turns to Kalin* We were. But if the Enforcers are about unthinking domination now, then I want no part in it. You know where to find me if you grow up. *starts to leave*

Yusei: Lyra...

Lyra: *turns to him* Yusei...try to talk some sense into him. *leaves*

-The Next Day-

(Finally, we have control over Lyra again. I'd tie up any loose ends you have in Satellite now, you probably won't get a chance later. I start by hitting the Duel Runner store, which is finally selling 3rd tier parts. I go ahead and spend a little time on the simulator to get enough DP to finish buying all of them, resulting in this:)

(Very nice. Also, another new Duel Runner part)

(This boosts top speed and acceleration, but slowly drains your endurance. If you can manage not to crash into anything, or have a high endurance vehicle on a Time Attack, you can get some incredible times out of this. Just don't ever use it for a Battle race. Now, the fact that Non-Securities is gone means we can now freely loot the place.)

(This Star Chip is stashed under the stairwell to the second floor.)

(This Twister card is hidden in the path Crow and his opponent blocked off.)

(Directly west of the 3rd floor save point)

(Directly north of the same save point.)

(And on the roof, where Gushizawa was standing to taunt Kalin and Yusei.)

(I also completely forgot about a duelist! Anna uses Goddess's Punishment, an Angel deck that uses Tethys, Goddess of Light to draw and Athena to manipulate the field. As with all Angel decks, watch for Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen, and Honest.)

(Since I'm using a Dark Magician deck, I suppose it's only appropriate that I pick up the alternate art Dark Magician and Dark Magician girl cards from Chihiro, which I fit into Lyra's deck, somehow. And I guess it's time to move on.)

Lyra: Heya. What's on your mind?

Crow: I don't think I told you this yet...

(I felt this could be better expressed in the actual cutscene, so here you go.)

Crow: ... ... ...

Lyra: I can see why. A man who created hope from nothing, and then when fate conspired against him chose to laugh in her face rather than give up. There are worse men to use as role-models.

Crow: He's basically the reason I started dueling in the first place. But now...

Lyra: Kalin will be fine. He just needs some time to figure out what's important to him.

Annie: *runs over* Crow! Oh, Crow, thank goodness you're here!

Crow: Whoa, whoa, calm down! What's up?

Annie: Something real bad! Kalin is fighting against Securities all by himself!

Crow: What?! Where?

Annie: In the building that used to be the hideout for Team Black 'n Blue!

Lyra: He wouldn't...that idiot! He would! Crow, we've got to do something!

Crow: That idiot! What's he thinking? Lyra! Get everyone together and let's go help Kalin! I'll go look for Jack! You go find Yusei! He should be in the hideout! If not, look around for him! When you find him, meet back up at the hideout! I'm countin' on ya!

Lyra: You got it! *Crow runs off*

Lyra: Kalin's out fighting Securities by himself. We need to get him out of there.

Yusei: What?! Kalin...? And Securities?! I thought he just went out for a walk or something! What is he thinking...?!

Lyra: Chances are, he's not. *Crow and Jack arrive*

Crow: Lyra! Hey, Yusei, too! Did ya hear the news?!

Yusei: Yeah, Kalin left without saying anything a little while ago. I had no idea he was thinking about doing something like this...

Jack: No time to talk about it now. Let's hurry and help Kalin!

Crow: Okay! I heard he was in the old abandoned building that used to be Team Black 'n Blue's hideout.

Yusei: Let's hurry before it's too late! *exuent*

Crow: You two head that way!

Lyra: All right, Freddy.

Yusei: We'll head upstairs from this way! If he hasn't been caught, he might still be on the top floor.

Jack: Just make sure no Securities spot you! They'll kick us out of here in no time.

(Yes, that's right. It's time for another mandatory stealth section! Fortunately, it's still simple. The first floor is safe, so go ahead and save, if you want.)

(On the second floor, the east room is safe. Jack will advise you that it should be possible to sneak past the Securities wandering the building or avoid them altogether. You'll have to evade the officer on this floor, and stay out of the west room, there's a Securities officer in there as well.)

(Here on the third floor is where Jack's advice comes into play. There's no way to sneak past this officer from here, so enter the west room.)

(There's an opening to the east, which you can take and bypass that officer entirely. Just don't run, or he'll hear you.)

(And reaching this screen means you've finished it.)

(If I recall, in the anime this occured in an alley, and Kalin was dripping blood. The Securities officer was dead.)

Yusei: Kalin!

Kalin: Oh, it's...you guys.

Yusei: What are you doing?!

Kalin: What does it look like? You know, I finally realized something... If we can defeat Securities, we'll really have conquered all of Satellite! Come on guys, join me! Let's take these guys on!!!

Lyra: That makes so much sense...yet...can even the Enforcers take on all of Sector Security? Non-Securities was big, but Securities' manpower is nearly limitless.

Yusei: You're not thinking straight! We can't expect to win agains them all! Uh-oh! A big group of Securities is heading this way! Let's get out of here! Everyone head for the hideout!

Kalin: Tsk!

Yusei: Lyra, you and Kalin head back to the hideout straight away. I'll be right behind you as soon as I find Crow and Jack.

Lyra: Right. *to Kalin* We have to choose our battles, and this one isn't looking good.

Kalin: They can't do anything without ganging up and bullying people!

Lyra: But they've got the numbers to do it. Besides, last I saw, you weren't exactly a paragon of virtue yourself. *Jack, Crow, and Yusei arrive*

Yusei: I see you two made it back safely.

Jack: There's a whole lot of Securities out there, though. This is not a time to let our guard down.

Crow: Yeah, we should lay low until all this blows over.

Kalin: What?! What are you talking about?! I know we can't take them all on at once, but if we take them out little by little, we can win! We're the Enforcers! It should be no problem for us!

Crow: Don't go getting overconfident! Yeah, we're a serious team, but goin' up against all of them would just be stupid!

Kalin: Well, we won't know unless we try! It's not like there's an infinite number of them, you know.

Lyra: Compared to us, there might as well be.

Crow: We gotta think carefully before just diving into a battle like this! The safety of Satellite is riding on our shoulders!

Kalin: Humph...

Yusei: ... ... ...

Jack: I think we should at least stay here today. If we're out and about we could be spotted at any time.

Lyra: *a siren sounds* What was that?!

Crow: No way! *runs out to check, then returns* Oh, man! There's a ton of Securities out there!

Securities: We know you're in there! Come out peacefully with your hands up!

Jack: Looks like we've got no way out...

Yusei: ... ... ...

Kalin: Well, you know what we've gotta do now. Let's just take 'em out like I said! We can do it!

Yusei: No, we can't... There's no way...

Kalin: What?!

Yusei: Even if all of us fight, there's no way we can win this one. Things will get way out of hand and innocent bystanders could get hurt. I have an idea...

Jack: Oh, really. And how do you propose to get us out of this one?

Yusei: I can't tell you. Just trust me.

Crow: Are you sure about this?

Kalin: Why can't we just do this the easy way and take 'em by force?! I know we can do this!!!

Crow: I'm gonna go with Yusei's idea. If we resist, you know the losses are gonna be huge.

Jack: Yeah. Even if we escape this time, we'll have an even bigger mess to get ourselves out of next time.

Lyra: How many can we handle? Ten? Twenty? Fifty? If we keep fighting, they'll just send larger and larger groups after us.

Kalin: Humph... So what's the plan then?

Yusei: Crow, Jack, and Kalin... You three sneak out the back without the Securities noticing. Let's see... Go to the bowling alley. I'll meet up with you there. Lyra, you come with me.

Lyra: All right.

Crow: So we're splitting up then. Okay. Yusei, Lyra, don't go and get yourselves caught.

Jack: Yeah, don't do anything crazy.

Kalin: ... ... ... All right. Fine. But you two better show up at the bowling alley later. *he, Crow, and Jack leave.*

Yusei: Okay. Come with me, Lyra.

Lyra: That...that's insane! What the hell are you thinking, Yusei?!

Yusei: If I say I'm the leader, they'll just arrest me and you guys can avoid trouble. When all the Securities are gone, go to the bowling alley and explain what happened.

Lyra: What makes you think I'll let you go through with this? You know what they'll do to you if you get caught. You'll be dead or worse in a week!

Yusei: You guys are all irreplaceable friends. So I'm gonna do whatever I can to make sure you're safe. Our bond is the most important thing to me.

Lyra: So important that you're willing to die for it...?

Yusei: Sorry to make you the bearer of bad news Lyra, but I'm counting on you. Do you have my back?

Lyra: ...I can't very well say no to that, can I? As I always have, Yusei.

Yusei: Thank you.

Yusei: I'm the one who attacked Securities. Nobody else has anything to do with it.

Securities: ... ... ...

Yusei: *takes a step forward* What's wrong? Go ahead, arrest me!

Securities: You're right, our orders are to arrest the leader of the Enforcers. Which is exactly why don't have any need for you guys anymore. Now, go home.

Yusei: What are you talking about?!

Securities: Look over there.

Securities: *walks over to Yusei* By the way, we already sent home the two that were with him. They tried to resist, but it was...futile. Rebelling against Securities is a very serious crime. Don't expect to see him again anytime soon.

Kalin: Yusei! You sold me out! You betrayed me, didn't you?!

Yusei: No! Kalin, I didn't! I swear! I...

Kalin: I thought we were friends, Yusei! *the officers start dragging him off* Yusei! Yusei!!!

Yusei: Kalin... No... I...

Lyra: So this is how it ends. The team that took Satellite crushed under the heel of Sector Security. Don't worry, Yusei. I know what you tried to do. We'll explain it to Kalin tomorrow during visiting hours.

And with this, although the Enforcers were able to conquer all of Satellite...that was their final achievement together.

(Cut back to Crow's/your house.)

Crow: You must be pretty tired, too. We should probably just call it a day and get some rest.

Lyra: I can't. I'm going out for a bit, I'll be back soon.

(If you have anything left unfinished in Satellite, wrap it up now. You won't be seeing it again until the last stretch of the game.)

Crow: *after Lyra comes back* Wanna call it a day?

Lyra: Yeah...nothing more that can be done today.

Crow: Okay, I'm gonna get some rest, too.

??: Lyra, can you hear me?

Lyra: Go away...

??: I see I've finally gotten through to you.

??: This may all seem like a dream to you, but it's not a dream. It's real.

Lyra: Isn't that what dream-creatures are supposed to say?

??: This is where the spirits of the duel monsters live. They all used to live here in peace. But now, an evil presence is making its way ever closer to this world. It's trying to corrupt this land and control it for its own evil ways. What's more, it has the same fate in mind for the human world. If this Spirit World is overtaken, the human world will surely follow. There is a girl in the human world who is the only person that can save this land. She is connected to the Spirit World and her pure heart can drive back the evil that threatens us.

Lyra: Then why are you telling me all this?

??: However, she is still young and does not yet have the courage she needs to face this evil alone. While not as powerful as she is, you also have a soul that is connected to this world. Please go and do whatever you can to aid her. And together...protect this world from the evil that threatens to destroy it...

Lyra: Ahh! Oh, it's just you Itsuki.

Itsuki: Whoa, you're sweating like crazy! Are you okay?!

Lyra: I think so. Maybe.

Itsuki: Are you sure?

Lyra: I'll be fine. Why don't you go out and play with Annie?

Itsuki: Well, if you say so... Don't push yourself too hard, okay?

Lyra: I won't. Where's Crow?

Itsuki? Crow? He's been out since early this morning. He's not back yet.

Lyra: You could have woken me. I'd have preferred it if you did, actually...

Crow: You looked like you were sleeping pretty heavy there. You okay? You're not feelin' sick, are ya?

Lyra: No, but I had a dream like you wouldn't believe.

Crow: What? You had a weird dream?

Lyra: Well, it seemed like one, but at the same time it wasn't. It was so vivid, and a voice told me that it was the Spirit World where the spirits of the cards live.

Crow: Huh? So it wasn't a dream...? You were in the Spirit World? I'm confused...

Lyra: So am I...*explains her dream to Crow in detail*

Crow: Hmm, that IS a pretty weird dream. I wonder if it's some kind of message or somethin'.

Lyra: If so, then there's not a lot I can do about it just now.

Crow: Hm, the Spirit World. Meh, it's probably just a dream. There's no "world crisis" goin' on!

Lyra: *laughs* True. I'm probably just still stressed about Kalin.

Sayer: She might be an important clue in the Spirit World puzzle. Not quite what I expected, though. But this could be just the chance I was looking for... I'll have to capture her and do some research.

Crow: Anyway, there sure are a lot of Securities around here recently. I don't know if they're after us or not, but I wouldn't get too close to 'em if I were you. We'll go talk to Kalin after things cool down a bit.

Lyra: Yeah. I hope we can pull enough together to get him out of there.

Crow: I don't know if there's anything we can even do, though... There's also a lot of rumors about some weird guys roaming around... We'll have to be more careful. Stay sharp.

Lyra: Huh. I'd think with all the Securities around, the shady figures would be less likely to be on the streets. See ya, Crow. *Crow goes inside, and Sayer approaches*

Sayer: I'd like to talk to you for a moment... Do you have a few minutes?

Lyra: Of the Arcadia Movement? What would a group of psychic duelist fanatics want with me?

Sayer: Don't worry. I'm not going to harm you. I know you've heard the rumors going around about us... But trust me, I'm not anyone to be scared of in any way. I told you exactly who I was, did I not? So what do you say? Will you trust me?

Lyra: What you say is true, however, I don't have any psychic potential, so I don't see anything worthwhile coming out of this conversation. It's not that I distrust you or your organization, I simply have nothing worthwhile to add.

Sayer: I see... In that case, I have no choice but to take you by force! I didn't want it to come to this, but I guess this is how it must be. *holds up a card*

Lyra: T-the hell is this?!

Your mind has been controlled by Sayer's psychic power!

Sayer: I should wrap this up quickly. I can't afford for my work to be exposed prematurely... *walks over beside Lyra* You should be proud! You will be the recipient of my powerful brainwashing techniques. Heh... *walks off, and Lyra follows him*

At one time, you, Yusei, and all of Yusei's friends fought together side-by-side in Satellite.

Seria: Sayer, the subject is awake now!

Sayer: We're going to need a more powerful regiment of brainwashing if the subject is to do our bidding. In order to strengthen the resistance when coming into contact with close friends... What?! The effect is wearing off?!

Lyra: Heh... I might not be psychic, but I'm stronger than you think.

Sayer: Speed up the process! If the subject breaks free, things could get very messy! Increase the output! Make sure the brainwashing is never again reversed!

Seria: Sir! The subject's life signs are too weak! It's dangerous!

Sayer: To a certain extent, I'm not worried about the danger!

Seria: The subject's lost conciousness! It might become just like that time with that boy...! Stopping the brainwashing!!!

(This event she alludes to is important. Remember it.)

Sayer: Grrr...! With this kind of incomplete brainwashing, who knows when it will be reversed?

Seria: Oh... It appears we have an intruder in our midst...

Sayer: I'll handle this personally. In the meantime, place the subject in a cell. We'll continue again after conciousness is regained.

Seria: Yes, sir...

Seria: Even if it's for the sake of research, how could all this be worth it? And didn't we say we wouldn't make that same mistake again...?

??: I'm being held prisoner in the Spirit World. Please help me... Somebody... Please listen to me!

To answer the voice calling out to you, your conciousness travels to the Spirit World.

Lyra: Okay...what the hell do I do now?

(Before we go, a brief trip into World Championship)

(More importantly, however, gaining access to World Championship Edition 2 gives us the Sage's Stone we were looking for. There are some other neat Dark Magician-related cards in there, including the Dark Magician Girl we'd have needed if we hadn't already bought the Alternate Art ones from Chihiro, Dark Magic Curtain, and Thousand Knives. Oh and Magician of Black Chaos/Black Magic Ritual, if you're interested in that. Thus, it seems only appropriate that I leave off with another deck update.)

Lyra, Enforcer Sorceress R-3

23 Monsters
2 Dark Magician
2 Apprentice Magician
2 Breaker the Magical Warrior
2 Chaos Sorcerer
2 Copycat
3 Dark Magician Girl
2 Defender, the Magical Knight
1 Flamvell Magician
1 Old Vindictive Magician
1 Royal Magical Library
3 Skilled Dark Magician
1 Sorcerer of Dark Magic
1 Summoner Monk

14 Spells
1 Dark Magic Curtain
2 Enemy Controller
1 Heavy Storm
1 Lightning Vortex
2 Magical Dimension
1 Mystical Space Typhoon
2 Sage's Stone
3 Spell Power Grasp
1 Thousand Knives

3 Traps
1 Call of the Haunted
2 Magician's Circle

9 Extra
1 Ally of Justice Catastor
1 Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier
3 Colossal Fighter
1 Gaia Knight, the Force of Earth
1 Magical Android
1 Mist Wurm
1 X-Saber Urbellum

Using only Enemy Controller and Magical Dimension for defense is pretty risky, but as a fan of the original King of Games, it only makes sense for Lyra to emulate him. The Spell Power Grasps may or may not stay, I haven't decided yet.

Next time, on Let's Play: Reverse of Arcadia

Lyra: Looks like it's up to me to save the girl destined to save the Spirit World... That is, if I want to ever go home.

Awww... Some of the pictures didn't show up because of the "Limit Reached", but I think I'll do a restart since I really need to work with my Duel Runner and get those other cards.
