Pitch it!!
We ask all writers, directors, bloggers, and videographers to send us anything you want, any time.
These can be sent to nation@legendzero.com. Pitches can be any length but the more you know or include about
your prospective project, the more likely we are to understand your vision.
You are welcome to send us as many pitches on (almost) any subject you like (let's keep it below X-rated, okay?), but we cannot promise
your article/video/series will be commissioned, but you will receive an email informing you we have read your pitch. We send this email manually,
and do not rely on an auto responder, so that you know a real person has opened your email.
Articles
The subject matter and style of our articles is discussed in more detail in the Substantive Guidelines and Style Guidelines, respectively.
Legend Zero adheres to AP Style, with a few exceptions. It is recommended you be familiar with AP Style before submitting.
When your article is commissioned, you will receive an email that clearly states the date that it is due and how many words you should
submit. Please make sure that you submit a draft on time, as it is never a good idea to have us chase after you. We expect articles to be
well-written and thoroughly researched. If subjects are interviewed, we expect to be able fact check these sources. If quotes are pulled
from other sources, we expect them to be cited. Links are sufficient for most citations, but it is the editor's discretion as to whether these
links will be published. We prefer not to heavily pepper our articles with links as we believe it diminishes the writer's voice. We also prefer
that sources other than Wikipedia be used whenever possible (and it is always possible, ALWAYS).
Articles can be submitted as an email attachment in one of the following formats: Word Document
(either .doc Word 1997-2003 or .docx Word 2007 is acceptable), Rich Text (.rtf), Mac Pages (.pages) or Plain Text (.txt). Please do not
submit your article in the body of your email. All submissions should be single spaced with a space between each paragraph. Please do not
indent paragraphs. Include a title and your byline, traditionally a short (2 sentence maximum) biographical description which may include
links to blogs or websites. Titles of games and publications should be italicized within the document. Please be sure that your full name
appears in your document.
For interviews, please list contact information for the interviewee(s).
Videos
Videos can be submitted as a link to a cloud hosting service of your choice. File extensions preferred are .mov, .mp4, and .avi, however other
extensions can be accepted. Videos should be smaller then 1GB in size, but this is not a hard limit. Videos will be accepted if further
reduction in file size also created a reduction in quality.
Include a title and video description in your video, along with relevant tags and keywords for YouTube. Please do not use copyrighted material without
written permission or other content that would violate the YouTube terms of service available
here.
Killed Content
Legend Zero reserves to kill any submitted content, audio, or visual material at any time. Authors of said content will be notified of the content's removal
from the Legend Zero catalog. Any funds earned via advertising up to that point will be paid to the content owner.
Payment
An invoice and content agreement must be submitted for all content accepted for publication. Payment will be made as advertising revenue reaches the
minimum threshold for payment ($5.00 as of 7/1/12) to the content owner's PayPal account. Those under 13 that submit their content to Legend Zero must
have their parents or legal guardian sign the content agreement in addition to themselves.
Amendments
Legend Zero may amend this Agreement at any time by posting the amended Policy on Legend Zero. The amended Policy shall automatically take effect for
new users from the day it posted on Legend Zero and 30 days after it is first posted on Legend Zero for registered users.
